🚲 One of my absolute favorite activities when we visited France was our guided bike tour of Versailles. It combined everything I love: physical activity, a beautiful palace and gardens, and lots of outdoor time!

⛲️ Our guide met us in Paris and we rode the train to Versailles to pick up our bikes. Once we had our bikes, we cycled over to the farmers market to pick up a picnic lunch. From there, we biked through the gates of Versailles and made our way over to the Grand Canal. We had a great picnic with views of the Olympic dressage competition. After lunch, we biked to the Petit Trianon, the Grand Trianon, and then the Queen’s Hamlet. My favorite of the three was definitely the Queen’s Hamlet!

🌳 We then returned our bikes to the shop and entered Versailles. The opulence is next level and the level of craftsmanship always amazes me. We wrapped up our day with a tour of the gardens. Each area was prettier than the next. They were incredible!

✨There are lots of options for getting around Versailles, including golf carts. Everyone has their own vacation style! As a travel agent, I have relationships with tour companies all over the world that offer all different kinds of tours. I’m able to offer my clients the perfect tour that fits their interests and vacation style!

🥇I'm back from the most incredible experience at the Olympics and jumping back into the swing of things!

✨Disney hosted the D23 summit and revealed lots of exciting projects coming to Walt Disney World!

👿There will be a Villains land in Magic Kingdom!! And we have a construction start timeframe of 2025! There will be 2 major attractions, dining and shopping.

👨‍🌾A brand new Indiana Jones attraction is coming to Animal Kingdom that will be different from all the other Indiana Jones attractions at Disney.

🚗 There will be 2 new Cars attractions coming to Frontierland in Magic Kingdom!

🏴‍☠️ A Pirates of the Caribbean themed Tavern will be coming to Magic Kingdom.

🚪A Monsters Inc land will be coming to Hollywood Studios and will have the first EVER suspended coaster at any Disney park.

🌝Magic Kingdom is once again getting a nighttime parade!

🇫🇷 Yesterday was our final day in Paris. We had a very wasy day. We spent our morning at the Musee d’Orsay. In the afternoon, we allowed the kids to choose the activities. That meant more time in the Louvre gardens and a visit to another park (Jardin des plants) to check out the zoo. We capped off our night with my favorite meal of the trip!

🏅 We head home today with lots of memories. The Olympics were incredible!

👩‍🍳 We had a (mostly) relaxing day yesterday! We started off with a macaroon making class at the Galeries Lafayette. I was unsure how the class would go, but it surprised me and everyone loved it!

⛵️ In the afternoon, we headed to Luxembourg Gardens. The flowers are all in bloom and it was a beautiful day! My kids enjoyed playing with the sailboats. The boats have been in the Gardens since the 1920s and are a true French institution for kids!

☠️ We ended our day with a guided tour of the Catacombs. It was fascinating! Our guide was a self professed “cataphile” who loves exploring the off tour areas of the catacombs and is passionate about their maintenance. We stuck to the official museum trail and learned so much about the history and purpose of the catacombs. There are 6 million skeletons in the catacombs but it felt peaceful and not at all scary!

🏅Yesterday we attended our last Olympic event and ended on a high note with Track & Field. The atheletes were incredible to watch and everyone enjoyed the nonstop action with all the different events happening. I also loved the variety of countries represented. The stadium was full of energy!

✨In the afternoon, we explored the Montmarte neighborhood. The views of the city from the Basilica were great!

✨ Yesterday we spent our entire day at Disneyland Paris! I’ll share more details later on all the aspects, but of course we loved it. Disneyland Paris reminds me a lot of Disneyland in California. There were a lot of great rides that aren’t in the US parks as well as tried and true favorites with a French twist!

🇫🇷We had a big weekend in France!

🎾 On Friday, we attended our tennis matches. We finally had the chance to cheer on Team USA for some competition! The men’s doubles team unfortunately lost but the experience was unforgettable. And we were able to take a picture with one of the Olympic torches used in the relay! We ended our day with a little boat cruise on the Seine. More on that later!

🇺🇸Saturday was a bucket list day. We took a day trip to Normandy and visited all the D-Day sites. The American cemetery is incredibly moving and so well done. The beaches are huge and really bring home the overwhelming task faced by the army. I am so glad we decided to visit and would 100 times again.

👑 Yesterday, we visited Versailles. I will post more about this tour in a specific post because it’s been one of our favorite activities so far! We had a guided bike tour of the Versailles that included a visit to the town market, picnic lunch on the Versailles grounds, and stops at all the sights. It is magnificent! I will spend the rest of my trip trying to figure out how to move there. 😉

🇫🇷 Yesterday was our first day in Paris. We started our morning with a visit to the Eiffel Tower. While we were enjoying the views, we saw a medal ceremony for one of the women’s road races.

🖼️ After the Eiffel Tower, we had a privately guided tour of the Louvre and it was so worth it! The Louvre was jam packed. Our guide had an art history background and toured us through the highlights giving us great info and pointing out interesting details. He was also great at keeping the kids engaged. While they loved the famous art, they really loved running around in the gardens outside the Louvre.

⛪️ We headed to the Marias neighborhood for dinner and to check on the progress of Notre Dame. It’s such a huge project!

🏅The Olympic energy in Paris is amazing! Most of the big tourist sites have rings and there are outdoor areas set up with big screens to watch the events. The Eiffel Tower was broadcasting the beach volleyball match happening right below it. And everyone sports their country colors and is so excited and happy to be experiencing the games. Crowds in Paris aren’t bad. The metro feels busy but not overfull and the streets aren’t more crowded than is typical for a big city. While the Louvre was insanely crowded, the Eiffel Tower was not at all!

🇫🇷 If traveling was an Olympic sport, yesterday we would have received a gold medal!

⛵️ Our day started wtih a sailing event at the Marseilles Marina. Paris has done an incredible job making the games fun and interesting for children. There were little stations set up around the marina with sailing related games and volunteers with paint making little designs on everyone’s arms. It works out that the French and American France flags share the same colors! 😉 We watched windsurfing- it’s the fastest sport at the games. The winner of one of the races traveled at 18 knots!

🚆 After sailing, our original plan was to take a train to Paris and arrive in the early evening. However, overnight storms caused trees to fall further up the railway line and all trains were cancelled. All buses were sold out and the available flights required a connection and were very expensive. I piped on my travel agent hat knew just what to do to get us to Paris! I called one of our trustworthy car service vendors and booked us a driver who picked us up and got us to Paris late last night. The vehicle was spacious and allowed everyone to have plenty of room to spread out and relax. Just what we needed after a stressful afternoon!

🥐We checked in to the Westin and received a warm welcome. I’ll share more about all our hotels in a later post!

🇫🇷 We had a big day yesterday!

🏍️ We started our morning with a vintage side car tour of the countryside outside of Aix. It was a unique and fun way to see the countryside. I would definitely do it again! Our drivers dropped us off in the city center so we could check out the local market. It was quintessentially French and felt like we were in a book!

💦 We headed back to our hotel for a swim break. Whenever we travel, I try to book a hotel with a pool for my kids. They need unstructured play time and a pool is the perfect outlet. Our hotel has a nice little pool scene with chair service and comfy sun loungers so everyone was happy!

⚽️ In the evening, we headed to Marseilles for our first Olympic event: men’s soccer! France played New Zealand and the energy in the stadium was incredible. There were Olympic volunteers with face and hair paint to get everyone in the spirit and the vast majority of people were wearing French colors. We saw the Olympic mascot making the rounds as well. France easily won the match and the crowd went wild with every goal. What an experience!

🇫🇷 We chose to stay in Aix en Provence because it’s a great location. We are about 30 minutes from Marseilles and about an hour from all the lavender fields. And in Aix itself, the little city center is picture perfect. There are tons of sidewalk cafes and cobble stone streets.

🪻We visited all three spots today. We started our morning at the lavender fields. As soon as we opened the doors, we could smell the lavender! One field had rows and rows of lavender as far as the eye could see!

🐟 After lunch we headed to the Calanques National Park. If we are near water, we are always going to book some kind of boat tour! The Calanques are gorgeous. The water is super deep but crystal clear and the sheer cliffs were imposing and beautiful. We snorkeled through a couple of caves and it was definitely a core memory for us.

🍔 We explored the city center in the evening and had dinner at a little cafe with great food. The kids all ordered hamburgers 🫠 but the waiter made such a great presentation of the burger that you would think they ordered something way more sophisticated and French!

🇫🇷 Bonjour from France!

🏅 After more than a year of planning, we are in France for the Olympics! We started our vacation in Monaco and road tripped from there to Aix en Provence yesterday. We are here for a few days to see soccer and sailing (in nearby Marseilles), and then it’s on to Paris for tennis and track and field. Attending the Olympic is a dream come true!

🤿 We have lots of fun adventures planned in between events. Today we are going snorkeling with a guide who is friends with my boys’ French teacher. It really is a small world after all!

⚽️Soccer fans! It's not too early to start thinking about the World Cup in 2026. It's coming to the Americas! There are host cities in Mexico, Vancouver, and the US, including Atlanta and Houston. How cool would it be to see a World Cup game in Mexico City (there's a great Four Seasons there)!

🍽️ When I visited Disneyland earlier this summer, I tried another “new to me” restaurant as part of my continuing goal to try every restaurant at the parks!

🥐 The Plaza Inn in Disneyland is a FANTASTIC character experience! We met so many characters - I think 7 or 8 in total! All the interactions were top notch. We laughed so much!

🧇We had a breakfast reservation and of course there were Mickey (and Minnie!) waffles and all the typical breakfast buffet foods. One difference I noticed between the Disneyland character buffet and the Walt Disney World character buffet is that everything was self serve. We served our own drinks and picked up our own silverware rather than having a server bring those over. It made for a quick and speedy meal with the emphasis on the character experience.

☀️ The Plaza Inn has a really pretty outdoor terrace that’s perfect for enjoying the California sunshine and great people watching. Definitely add this to your Disneyland restaurant list!

⭐️ My mother and son clients are going to have the sweetest first time visit to Disney! The little boy loves all things Star Wars, so I suggested a resort hotel with easy access to Hollywood Studios.

⭐️ They are going to love their hotel. In the morning they can just hop on the Skyliner and zip right over to Hollywood Studios. And in the evening, they can eat at one of the many restaurants nearby or have fun at the best pool complex at Disney World!
