We had a stargazing picnic dinner and wine tasting courtesy of Siwela wines. Siwela wines is a woman owned wine company, named after the founder’s first name which means crossing over in IsiZulu. We also got a chance to engage in an unconventional trade engagement session over a delicious meal.

Yesterday, we conquered adrenaline-fueled quad bike trails and enjoyed a leisurely horse ride at Hollybrooke. This is an adventure farm offering a spectrum of activities, such as the famous Orango-Tango Zipline. They also provide accommodation with cozy chalets that offer a retreat overlooking the Magalies River.

Fresh from Meetings Africa 2024, we began our exploration of the North West with a scenic Jeep convoy from Sandton to Hartbeespoort. One of our first activities was the Hartbeespoort Aerial Cableway, a marvel constructed in 1973. This 1.2 km long cableway ascends to the top of the Magaliesberg, treating us to breathtaking panoramic views.

Earlier this week, we attended Meetings Africa 2024, a trade show that provided us with a dynamic platform to connect with industry leaders, showcase our offerings, and engage with influential buyers. Meetings Africa is renowned for bringing together global, continental and national industry associations to foster collaboration and growth. Following this gathering, we were honored to join South African Tourism on a journey of exploration of the North West and Western Cape provinces for the coming days. We were honoured to host international guests Jamie from USA and Gustave from Rwanda during BTTE as they discovered a bit of Botswana.

Our journey included a visit to Tuli Block, where Koro river camp Botswana generously hosted us for three nights, providing a fully inclusive package. From game drives to walking safaris, each moment showcased the beauty of Botswana's wildlife.

Our tour with Wilderness continues and we have made it to the the archetypal Okavango Delta camp, Jao Camp! Surrounded by riverine forests and vast floodplains, this is one of original premier camps and was rebuilt in 2019. J*p is the perfect hideaway with impressive elements that include a gallery, museum and library.

Pelo, meaning ‘heart’ in Setswana is a fitting name for Wilderness Pelo Camp, set on a heart-shaped island in the Jao Reserve. This intimate camp’s five spacious tents look out over the surrounding water.
Some of the activities offered here include Mokoro rides, boating, fishing, guided walks and helicopter scenic flights.

First up on our itinerary was Wilderness Qorokwe! It’s home is the exclusive Qorokwe Protected Area, 25,000 hectares dense with game where you will find an abundance of local herbivores. The camp has 9 elegant tents (including one very spacious family unit with a private plunge pool) and a magnificent main area, overlooking a lagoon and its infinity pool is a focal point for the expansive views.

We have been invited on an educational tour with Wilderness Safaris this week to experience the wonders and beauty of Earth’s Ultimate Untamed Places! This is especially exciting as it is the best time to visit the Okavango and to witness the arrival of the annual floods.
