Mr Steve Wells & the lovely Jessica Nichols from Monster Radio will not only be in the building the first day we're open and the second....but we have them a third day to provide you all with a fun party Christmas Eve Night!
So, there will be a round of Bingo, a round of Play your Cards right, maybe a round of Mr & Mrs, more party games, Jess will take to the microphone 🎤 and provide us with some tunes & maybe some of you would like to provide the rest of us with some tunes...Karaoke!
We will be selling tickets for only 12.50€ and this will also provide you with a Platter of party buffet food at your table along with a glass of fizz!
We will be requiring a 50% deposit per person to reserve your seats and cover the cost of food.

Lift a blanket quarantine enforcement for Spain to mainland Spain only. Coronavirus in the Canary and Balearic Islands is not prevalent therefore you should be allowed to travel without return quarantine requirements.

Well they really f@@@ that up! After 4 different versions on the gov.uk website last night, the UK ended up including the Canary Islands as a destination that you need to quarantine when returning to the UK.
The President of the Canary Islands is in talks with the UK to get an exemption for the Canaries and to re-open the "safe corridor"
Keep checking the travel information on gov.uk website as it could well change again over the next few days.

Heads up for those of you on the island currently. The police are having a campaign this weekend to ensure mask wearing rules are being adhered to. There is a €100 fine for anyone not complying.
The rules are pretty straightforward:
1/ Everyone 6 years and over should wear a mask in indoor public areas (shops for example,) and on public transport.
2/ You only need to wear a mask outdoors if you can't social distance to 1.5 metres - pretty rare here in Lanzarote.
3/ In bars and restaurants, you are not required to wear a mask while eating and drinking and once seated. If you cannot maintain a social distance of 1.5 metres when entering or leaving, or using the rest rooms, you should put your mask on.
So, make sure you always have one with you, stick to the rules, and if in doubt about whether you can keep 1.5 metres away from others, put it on, to be on the safe side.
You don't need to wear a mask out walking generally, on the beach, around the pool etc.
It's important that we all follow these rules, which will continue to keep Lanzarote one of the safest places on the planet from Coronavirus, and if we do, it will mean the mask rules won't be tightened here, as they have in other parts of Spain.

Today is a very special day. The island is now completely free of the virus and at midnight, lockdown is over. A young boy who came here to escape the repression of his own country was the last to test positive and is now clear and in the care of our community.
Tomorrow we start a new life. The island never faltered but we are resolute in our direction. The President of Spain announced "a new stage is beginning" in which "we have recovered the street, reconquered mobility" and in which "the economy begins to beat". We echo this here on the little rock in the sea.
Tourism has not restarted in any great quantity and might not for a while. We welcome the first flights from mainland Spain in the coming days but hotels for our larger groups (UK, Germany, Ireland) are still in the process of opening. All those planning to travel this year are advised to follow international guidance on the pages of your government.
This weekend many residents are out enjoying the sunshine, the quiet cafes and even the great Cesar Manrique monuments to which the islanders have been given ten days of free entry. Personally my family will take the camera to Timanfaya to accept a memory of the stark beauty in reflective isolation. Photo coming soon!
All of us talk of you returning here. We will welcome you fully. You are our friends and our livelihood. When you do come, there will be new rules. For example, even without the virus here, every single person wears a mask when we enter a building. And the distancing laws will stay in place until a vaccine is found.
But we are free. For today we are breathing the freshest air and celebrating that our community overcame this wave. If there are more waves to come, you will find Lanzarote utterly capable of riding them out. We surf over that devil and rise on the the tide. Always, we will rise.
Forgive us our few days of joyful quiet and we will prepare a welcome as genuine and true as the great sun that warms this land.
