Calypso was born from the idea for visitors to experience life lived like a local. Calypso’s captains are locals and have good knowledge and contact with the sea, therefore they ensure maximum safety and are able to show the guests all the beautiful places to visit. Calypso has two engines, good construction materials, a comfortable sundeck, a big cabin and a large stern platform that eases the ac

cess to the boat and sea. The name of the boat was inspired by the character of Calypso for her role in Homer’s Odyssey, in which she attempts to keep the Greek hero Odysseus on her island to make him her immortal husband. In Homer’s epic “The Odyssey” some mythologists believe the Sirens to have been mermaid form. In these myths, mermaids would sing to men on ships, hypnotizing them by their beauty and songs leading them to their doom. The Sorrento Coast was named after the mythical mermaids who, as legend has led us to believe to live in the very waters overlooking the city.
