I am completely in awe of the people on Caye Caulker. Hurricane Earl destroyed many of the businesses and damaged many of the homes on the island; however, they got to work as soon as the storm subsided and removed debris, dug out boats, began rebuilding piers, and whatever else needed to be done. There were no frowns and no pity parties. In fact, many of the conversations were about how things could have been much worse and how fortunate they were. This sign says it all:

The cabins were originally built in the 1930’s as fishing cabins. The cabin itself was definitely a throwback to simpler days of yore, which is exactly what we were hoping for.
