The City of Talladega is accepting applications for the following position:
PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR

Applications will be accepted through Friday, May 17, 2024, until 5:00 P.M. The employee serves as the Director of the Department and in the capacity of an engineer. The director performs highly responsible and diversified professional work, providing oversight, management and supervision for all department personnel and Public Works operations. Responsibilities range from establishing departmental goals and priorities in conjunction with the City Manager and City Council, to planning and implementing public works projects, managing the departmental budget and personnel matters, and ensuring that all projects and functions fall within established parameters and mandates. The employee may perform field work and labor as needed. The employee advises on priorities, materials, equipment and/or projects to be undertaken by the City that involve City infrastructure. Background check and drug screening required. Applications, job requirements, and salary information may be obtained at City Hall or online at www.talladega.com. EOE. Pay: $65,124.80 - $100,380.80.

Talladega Main Street (TMS) is seeking an Executive Director. The TMS Executive Director coordinates activities within a downtown or commercial district revitalization program that utilizes historic preservation as an integral foundation for downtown economic development. He/she is responsible for the development, conduct, ex*****on and documentation of TMS. The Executive Director is the principal on-site staff person responsible for coordinating all program activities and volunteers, as well as representing the community regionally and nationally as appropriate. In addition, the Executive Director should help guide the organization as its objectives evolve. Salary range $45,000 - $50,000. Resumes and cover letters are due by May 18, 2024.
