Amen! 🙏🏻❤️🇺🇸✝️📖🕊️
If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and he will deliver us from Your Majesty’s hand. But even if he does not, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.”
Daniel 3:17-18
Sometimes, it can be so incredibly tempting to take the easy way out.
When it comes to having faith, however, very rarely is the easy way the right way.
Just take Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego’s story for the perfect example.
Nebuchadnezzar’s creates a giant golden statue and decrees that everyone should bow before it to honor him at the sound of playing instruments. Sadrach, Meshach and Abednego decide that they will not worship anyone but the Lord. Even though the king offers them another chance, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego stand firm and proclaim their loyalty through the One and only God.
How logical would it have been for their courage to fail once Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego had to face Nebuchadnezzar? I’m afraid I’d be tempted to just give in. The punishment for disobeying was being thrown into a fiery furnace. Nebuchadnezzar even warns the men this would happen to them. Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego don’t waver. Their words testify of their rock solid faith and trust in the God of Israel. He is able to deliver them from whatever punishment would be inflicted on them. But even if He doesn’t, they proclaim that they will still worship no one but the Lord.
If you know this story—or look it up in a Bible—you will know that Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego are indeed thrown into the fiery furnace. In his anger, the king even heats it up seven times hotter than usual. The men’s faith is rewarded when an angel appears with them among the flames and frees them from their bonds.
This mighty God is still the very same God we serve. So don’t be afraid to do what’s right. It might not be easy, but the Lord will be right there beside you. He is able to save and protect you, no matter what.
Prayer: Lord, give me a steadfast faith and courage that won’t falter when I am tested. Thank You for delivering me from evil and proving Your faithfulness time and again. Amen.
