The feeling that you get when you walk into a New York Deli is instantly familiar. It is that feeling of walking into your favorite restaurant without a reservation. It is that feeling of being welcomed by people who care about you and your needs. It is that feeling of being looked after.

New York Delis are restaurants predominantly filled with people eating lunch. It is also common that people will order food over the phone and then come and pick it up at the restaurant. Each Deli is owned individually and you will often see the owner working in the restaurant.

The smell of food which is cooking in a New York Deli is unlike any other smell. The smell of fresh cooked food is always lovely, but the smell of a hot New York Deli on a hot humid day is something else.
