Our first fair was at the Casino Rooms in Rochester Kent which started downstairs in the club and soon grew so big that we took over the upstairs of the venue. Many of our first record dealers are still trading with us today. We moved on from the Casino Rooms to a venue in Chatham due to demand on size and capability. Our next venue was St Georges Centre next to the Historic Chatham Dockyard, this
was a great venue with lots of architectural history that which we had many happy years of trading. During our time at St Georges Centre we were attending various other record fairs, one of which was Rainham Fair, Rainham in Kent. We took over Rainham Record Fair at Rainham Mark Social Club in May 2004. We were running a record fair at these two venues at alternate months throughout the year. Rainham record fair has now been running at this venue for over 36 years under different management with us at the helm for 16 years to date. We have also been running a mini record fair in Rochester Kent for 8 years now at Princes Hall, Corn Exchange, High Street Rochester. This fair is normally held 6 times a year and has 6/8 dealers selling vinyl, Cds, DVDs books and memorabilia. Once a year you can also find us in our record fair at the Sweeps Festival in Rochester which is held over three days in May during the May Day Bank Holiday. We also co run Croydon Record Fair with Warren Marshall after the sad loss of Roger Long, it was with great honour to be asked to take over Rogers role. This fair is held at The Oasis Academy, Shirley Road Croydon. Back in 2010 our good friend Road Daine started a record fair in Whitstable held at a great venue, St Marys Hall (umbrella centre) Oxford Street. Whitstable Kent. Once again we were asked if we would like to take this fair over and yes we once again jumped at the chance to add yet another record fair to our portfolio, we are now in our 2nd year of running a fair at this venue. This is what semi-retirement is all about. Over the years we have organised record fairs at different festivals such as local one Parklife in Gillingham Kent and to more minor events such as a Food & Drink festival in Ashford Kent. Recollect also gets to represent the Fairs via stalling out one or two stalls in various smaller live music environment such as local Jazz nights.
………We Welcome you to come to one of our Recollect fairs and see what the fuss is about for yourselves………
