Adaland Mansion at Philippi is now taking reservations for the Mother’s Day Buffet at Adaland. We will have three seatings: 12:30PM, 2:15PM and 3:45PM.

Pricing for the buffet is as follows: $35 for those twelve years old and over, $10 for those for five years old to eleven years old, and free for those four years and under.

Chef Lucy Williamson will be serving up ham with raisin sauce on the side, chicken with stuffing, broccoli and cauliflower medley, potatoes, tossed salad with our famous Adaland dressing, homemade rolls, variety of desserts, iced tea, our signature peach iced tea, water and coffee.

The City of Philippi will be taking reservations over the phone on behalf of Adaland. Please call Carey at 304-457-3700. Reservations are required and seating is limited.

The City of Philippi is proud to announce the June lineup for the Philippi Summer Concert Series. We kick off on June 16th with Dan Nesbitt and Top Shelf . On June 23rd we welcome Wilma Cutlip and The Sodapopgypsies Band. To finish off June, we will have The Masons and The Living Street on June 30th.

Today, Sunday, is the day of the reenactment of the first land battle of the Civil War. The battle starts at 2PM at the Covered Bridge and works it way through downtown. This reenactment is unlike most reenactments as it takes place in the middle of Downtown Philippi. Be sure to today to take in the action!

Barbour County is located in north-central West Virginia, USA. It was formed in 1843 when the region was still part of the state of Virginia. Philippi, the county seat, was chartered in 1844. Barbour County and Philippi were named for Philip Pendleton Barbour (1783-1841), a prominent and respected United States Congressman and the United States Supreme Court Associate Justice. With a population of 16,831, Barbour County offers small town and rural living at its finest in Belington, Junior, Philippi, Galloway, Century, and several dozen additional unincorporated areas.
