Construction of new homes is everywhere. Some things to consider. Most developments have Home Owner Associations.(HOA) They are mandatory. There is a fee involved. Some Communities also have Community District Development Fees. They are added to your property taxes. They pay for things like sidewalks, lighting and club houses. (That is in addition to your HOA fees. Older homes in town do NOT have HOA fees or CDD fees. So in the long run may cost you less per year to own.

Demand for housing is on the rise. The inventory of pre-existing homes is lagging behind an increase in buyer demand. As a result buyers are competing for well priced homes as mortgage borrowing requirements appear to be easing. While good - to very good credit scores are still required, now may be a good time to consider buying a home with your tax refund.
