This what £160 000 looks like in the field. Oh yeah, plus £25 000 for the cultivator and another £8000 for the seeder on top. Expensive game this growing food. The tractor is not ours, it’s a demonstrator from Cornwall Farm Machinery. A nice bit of kit.

When you are caught out in a downpour there is nothing like gunnera, giant rhubarb, to act as a natural umbrella.
You will need the sound up a bit on this video. After years of endeavouring to encourage skylark numbers our efforts are paying off. Two males in adjoining fields proclaiming their territories with their joyful sound.
Our new pond, we only created it last August. Already had tadpoles in it and you can just make out a duck and her brood in the grass. The native watercress from nearby that I planted in the shallows is establishing well too. Pendulous sedge and flag irises to go in next.
