In the early 1800s this windmill was built to drain the Naardermeer 🇳🇱.⁠

It's now operated by volunteers and still regulates the water level of this 700 ha swamp area → without the support of other pumping stations! 😲⁠

ℹ️ From Amsterdam it takes about 15-20 minutes by 🚙. ⁠
Usually the mill is open every Sunday ➡️ the blue pennant tells you if the mill is actually open. ⁠
