After a 48 hour open ocean crossing from Tahiti to the Tuamotu, we made it! Seas were rough and with a no moon to brighten the night sky, the conditions felt even more weary. But it’s the only way, the Tuamotu are so remote, making the daring crossing comes as a necessity and arriving in this remote paradise on the atoll of Tikehau has us speechless. We will spend a few days exploring this atoll finding secluded motus all to ourselves. It’s a journey of a lifetime! And unlike our other voyages, we have 14 days to explore and truly take our time. Once the voyage is finished, we’ll announce the 2025 Tahiti - Tuamotu Voyage dates, and it will sell out quickly! Email Ali in the office to put your name down. We can’t wait to journey with you!

We set out from Tahiti for a nearly 200 nautical mile open ocean passage to the tropical and isolated atolls of the Tuamotu Archipelago that expands across and 800 mile region of the Pacific Ocean. With some trepidation about the cross from wind and sea, we set off using our best heading with a waypoint it Tikehau. Roughly 40 hours at sea sailing through the night using a 4 hour with select 2 hour intervals, a schedule called the “Dog Walk”, we split into three teams with captain & first mate on call throughout the passage. Wind was steady 24 with guests up to 30, a triple reef in the main and jib, we cruised at a steady 5 knots until the end where we fell off by 30 degrees and gained about 2 knots in speed. With his extra speed, we got to the island quickly and ended up tacking back and forth until sunrise. And now for our first approach through the passage into Tikehau! Over the next two weeks, we’ll sail hundreds of more nautical miles! Adventure adventure!!!

In a few days we set out on a voyage the first of its kind for Sailing Collective: a 14-day 600+ nautical mile expedition departing Tahiti bound for an open oceanic crossing to the Tuamotu Archipelago, known to the locals as the “dangerous islands”. Over the years we’ve been increasing our “adventure” tolerance seeing who’s crazy enough to join the experience. We won’t see land during the passage and once arriving in Tuamotu, we will carefully navigate tight passages with raging currents in and out of the atoll lagoons. When at anchor, we’re swim on active tropical reefs and walk the flat white sand beaches shaded by palms and make friends with islanders and cook fish barbecue over coconut husk fires. Departing with Captain & with 6 SC regulars with a combined tally of over 50 Sailing Collective adventures on the records, we set out! If we make it back safe and sound, then stay tuned for the 2025 Tuamotu Passage and JOIN THE ADVENTURE!

Filled with time at sea and the freedom of the wind, this summer has been a blessing! One of our busiest seasons despite the drop in yacht charters in the industry. We put our promise for adventure and passions for hospitality first, and what do we get? Pure joy. This summer, we’ve been busy in Greece and Naples, some Croatia, less Aeolian Islands as we would like but still plenty of wonderful adventures there! Sardinia is always a hit and we’re now excited to put our eyes on the topics for the fall and winter season! Where are you adventuring next?

Oh summer, we love you! There’s been a lot of Greece this summer, a lot of Croatia, and a lot of Italy. How could life get better? Just two more months of voyages chartering in the Mediterranean before we turn to the tropics for the winter months. Quick PSA, now is a GREAT time to get a head start on planning for Summer 2025. It’s not that we only just eat food on these voyages, but it’s certainly a highlight! Chef serving some delicious dishes with Greek ingredients. The rice with dill and fried zucchini was a highlight! Enjoyed at anchor in a cove on Nisos Kalimnos in a bay named Palionisos, hope to two tavernas situated between two imposing rock mountains that tower over the bay. Epic, you could use to describe this anchorage. Perfect is another way - this week during our two-boat group journey sailing the Dodecanese Archipelago!

And for those who don’t know, we’re a travel company, we voyage in chartered catamarans led by the Sailing Collective team of captains & chefs, and we have a heck of a time! Most importantly, you’re invited ✌🏼

12 YEARS AGO TODAY! Captain Max Kufner, one of the first Sailing Collective captains during our very first Sailing Collective Croatia voyage in 2012 going over some sail theory before getting underway. Since this photo, thousands of wide eyed travelers have joined the adventure discovering hidden coves home to coastal communities engulfed in wild nature, together, seeing this beautiful world through our own eyes. To have the opportunity to relax for a week, be untethered with the grown as we float above tranquil waters connected to earth only by our boat’s anchor. And we’re off! Our first week of the season with a tandem voyage in the Gulf of Naples and a private charter with a family of 4 leaving Athens bound for the Cyclades Archipelago! The SC is in position and we’re ready for our 12th season in the Mediterranean. With 40 some odd departures, a mix of group journeys, private charters, and our sailing school courses, we adventure! Lots of Italy this year, even more Greece which we’re thrilled about! This is our first year sailing in Turkey since 2014 and of course we’re excited to be back in Croatia. For all of you who did it, booked your voyage, congratulations!! For all those who were unable to, see you this winter and next summer. Fair winds and following seas 🌊

Are you coming off a super stressful work time and want to be blissed out with tropical waters and nothing but mellow? Then you should go to French Polynesia, or Sardinia, or Antigua. Or are you looking for activity and action and want a lot of movement? Then you should consider the Gulf of Naples, the Croatian coast, or the British Virgin Islands.”"

Practice the art of shuttle diplomacy. Don’t bicker over breakfast. Include a wildcard. Drop the intermittent fasting. And do not, for heaven’s sake, Splitwise the small stuff.

SC founders & bothers in their home waters in the Gulf of Maine one early morning way back in 2018 rocking the OG Armor Lux limited addition SC crew sweater. But most importantly, MAINE! We’re offering private SAILING SCHOOL courses in Maine if you want to go this summer! What does this mean: a small group to 4 friends interested in a private sailing course, we can customize the course to your liking - ASA 101 through 105. This would take place on a REAL cruising boat, not your ordinary modern boat, similar to the Hinkley in the photos.

Palmarola—an enchanting gem in the Tyrrhenian Sea off Italy’s coast. This island, part of the Pontine Archipelago, remains a pristine haven of natural beauty. As we approach by sea, Palmarola’s dramatic cliffs and rugged coastline rise majestically from the azure depths. The clear waters teem with vibrant marine life, revealing a rich underwater world.

On land, the Mediterranean climate supports a variety of flora, including wild rosemary, thyme, and agave. In spring, wildflowers bloom, attracting butterflies and pollinators. The island also serves as a crucial stop for migratory birds like Eleonora’s falcon and numerous songbirds.

Sparse human habitation, with only simple fishermen’s shelters, has preserved Palmarola’s pristine character. Visitors in summer come to swim, snorkel, and explore its secluded coves and grottoes, such as the enchanting Grotta del Mezzogiorno.

Palmarola is a living museum of natural history, a testament to nature’s enduring power, and a reminder of our need to preserve such wonders. Here, we can truly appreciate the unspoiled splendor of the natural world.
