For this new years we had a remarkable family from the UK. They made it a point to deliver a speech to the whole crew before leaving. It was truly inspiring to hear how we played such an important role in their “Magnificent” experience and how we all came together as strangers & departed as “friends” Thank you for taking the time to communicate how we made your Egyptian Tale “one for the ages” Thank you for entrusting us with your clients.

Two of our favorite chairs, very executive and comfortable. Located in the panoramic upper lounge. Large circular bamboo coffee table made by Al Asyooty. Sit, relax and take turns using the binoculars to take a closer look across the east or west banks of the Nile.

A Pierre Jeanneret inspired wood chair and “George” style ottoman chair both made by “Osta Hussein”, a long time family carpenter from the heart of Cairo, that takes his time and produces beautiful pieces that we are proud to own and share with you in Kemet’s Aur suites.

Thank you for the lovely picture and including us in your wonderful holiday. Go team Italy !

A great shot at Gebel el-Silsila (Arabic: جبل السلسلة - Italian: Monte della Catena)
Just north of Aswan in Upper Egypt, where the cliffs on both sides close to the narrowest point along the length of the entire Nile. It was used as a major quarry site on both sides of the Nile from at least the 18th Dynasty to Greco-Roman times.

Kemet parked in its home dock on the East bank of Luxor. A small privately owned alleyway leads to the river bank where we have a small garden and steps leading down to Kemet. We are honored to have this dock surrounded by the homes of a local family who have welcomed us.

We love being creative with the beautiful furniture, cushions, accessories and lights to decorate and set a star gazing Nile River Bank dinner.

We light up Kemet from the sides giving you a floating temple effect and curate the music (or welcome you to DJ your own set) with our many portable Bluetooth speakers.

A night to tell tales, laugh, indulge, relax and soak in the setting.

Back to the brightly lit library lounge with its stern curved exterior balcony.
We filled it with even more color - locally made colorful Esna mattress and cushions. The library holds great fiction and nonfiction titles, ancient Egyptian puzzles, board games and a collection of Rawi magazines covering Egyptian cinema, powerful women, cuisine and much more.
A lovely place for early risers as you can help yourself to coffee and tea and do your morning routines as the sun reflects through the large glass windows and beautiful glass folding french doors.

KEMET:

(KM.T) OR BLACK LAND This was the only land in ancient Egypt that could be farmed because a layer of rich, black silt was deposited there every year after the Nile flooded. The ‘red land’ was the barren desert that protected Egypt on two sides.

Out of many names we’ve heard for Egypt, one that is rarely used is “kemet” so we picked it as we hope to give you a rare experience of Egypt, one that you wouldn’t ever expect! …don’t worry you will still get to see and experience those expected ones too !
