Destination North Cape
Even though they have had a childhood and a live path at variance from one another, the duet Antoine Nicolas, industrial designer and Thomas Geury civil engineer, displays some stunning similarities. Freshly graduate, they are sharing the same dream: to reach the North Cape, by bicycle, with no limits of time, without travelling plan and with minimum information. They conse
quently will offer themselves the chance and the liberty to marvel at nature and the human in his diversity and in his versatility.

“ Destination North Cape “, a relevant title for an ambitious project. North Cape or Nordkapp in Norwegian is often symbolically considered as the northernmost point of Europe. A cliff that offers a breathtaking view on the Atlantic and Arctic oceans and which the two friends promised they would ride on. Wise Foolishnesses
Seven years of unremitting friendship in spite of the physical distance imposed by higher education. So many years living wise foolishnesses. Two words of their own, that only them can define thanks to the emotions provided by the memories of those experiences, sometimes lived in pairs, often with the four of them, adding Oscar and Pierre-Axel to the original duet. Indeed, every reunion, as scarce as they happened, unified them around a same will: testing their personal limits. Years of meeting together around trips and audacious plans set Destination North Cape in the continuity. From theory to practice
Everything is set today in order to make the dream come true. On the one hand a painstaking physical preparation punctuate their daily lives. On the other hand Thomas and Antoine managed to convince sponsorships of quality to offer them the opportunity to travel with professional material: a tent made for the pickiest expeditions as well as a high-end camera. Thanks to the pictures, they will be able to share with the world their incredible trip, step by step with its difficulties and its moments of delight. Amongst the merriments, let’s emphasise the no-shaving part, during the whole trip. Do not understand this as a will to blend with a random claim of a well-known compatriot. A request that is actually no longer relevant. So what bees have our two fellows in their bonnet? It’s just a slice of madness that crossed their mind. A wise and gentle madness, the utterance of what they are. Two exquisite persons
Antoine Nicolas was born in 1989, in Brussels. Half grown, he left the capital with his parents to live in Boston, where he’ll live about four of his childhood years. The
comeback on the “Plat pays” was no less tumultuous, not two years go by without a removal. Used to changes, he started alone, ever since he was fourteen, a series of travels. Intended to make scientific studies, Antoine decided anyhow to take another road: the Design. Freshly graduated, he prepares himself to embrace the adventure “Destination North Cape” with his old buddy, Thomas Geury. Right after his return, Antoine will launch his own collection of bags whose prototypes will have been tested during the trip to North Cape. A rough test made to offer the future customers a quality product. Thomas Geury was born in 1989 in La Hulpe, in the Walloon Brabant. Really young he practises sports, from table tennis to golf, going through running. Parts of his vacations are synonyms of pleasure but others of efforts. Lots of biking is done and adventures are hoped. It is two steps away from his parents that he started a five-years course at the
polytechnic of Brussels (ULB). Within the framework of an Erasmus, Thomas took off for Lisbon. A high-ranking trip that pushes him to go back there, right after his
homecoming, to complete a PhD degree. Lisbon-Brussels is a new adventure,
professional this time. Original Betina Youssef ; Translation Sarah Lorguet
