Hitchhiking Thailand vol. 2 - stop-over at a police station.
After a fantastic 200km long ride through Thai mountains at the back of a pick-up (great to develop kinetosis by the way :) ) we were hyped to find out what the road may bring. Well it was a not very well english speeking man who was offering us to take us to the bus station. After our polite refusal he explained it was not an offer but a demand. Oh, and also that he is a police officer. Even though we tried explaining that we wanted to hitchhike and therefore don't have spare money for the bus, he insisted that we come with him. The bus station turned out to be right next to the police station (how convenient! ) which was obviously also were we were headed. After 15 minutes of explaining again what are we doing and why we don't want to take the bus we were "explained" that either we go by bus or we get our visas canceled and leave the country. Sitting in the bus we were thinking what the hell are the chances that in the first car we stop is a police man... The rest of the journey to the southern Thailand went much better, people here stop within few minutes and drivin at the back of the pick-ups with the wind in your hair is just great!
