🗣️Meet Laurie-Anne, a soccer player from University of Akron. Laurie-Anne interned in Valencia, Spain in 2024 🇪🇸

“My top highlights were the incredible people I met on my program and during my internship, and getting to experience Spanish soccer by playing with a local team. During the entire month, I fully enjoyed and embraced the cultural differences that Spain had to offer and made me grow as a person as I was learning them. I wish everyone could live the same positive experience I had over there!”

📝Laurie-Anne’s tips for future SAA Interns:

- Keep a journal! It’s a nice way to remember your journey.

- Do your own research before going to a new country and make a list of places you would like to visit.

- Remind yourself that it’s normal to experience culture shocks.

Student-Athletes Abroad is an industry leader in international education programs for US university student-athletes. We have been operating programs since 2010 hosting thousands of students from nearly every NCAA sport and from over 500 different DI, DII, DIII and NAIA universities across the United States.
