What a magnificent weekend it was, celebrating the Swiss Italian Festa and exploring the unique culture and enduring legacy of these settlers in Central Victoria and Melbourne.
We were transported back to 1904 when 14 year old Amelia Musso was sent to Daylesford from Tuscany, Italy to look after her uncle who lived in the goldfields. Maria Triaca Harris and Cathy Samsury took us on an oral and written journey through Amelia’s life and her intergenerational influence which continues today.
Our warmest gratitude to swissitalianfesta Swiss Italian Festa Hepburn and radiusarthepburn for supporting this special event.
