Our hearts and heads are in LA this week. We are deeply saddened by the devastation and loss. There are truly no words. We are trying to focus on the helpers and the communities coming together, including our own. Please see a couple of places to donate below. ♥️

Shopping! Very much a part of the experience in Istanbul. From bookstores to boutiques to Grand Bazaars, Istanbul has it all! Our only regret, we didn't buy more!

Istanbul is a fusion of so many different cultures and it makes for such a dynamic city. The markets and mosques and neighborhoods are all fascinating 🤩🇹🇷

Wow. Mont blanc. My husband and I just returned from an adventure that completely wow-ed us, four days on the Tour de Mont Blanc. Looking for a last minute adventure, we booked a hiking trip in the Mont Blanc region, having no idea that the TMB was a "thing" - a bucket list trip and one of the most popular hiking routes in Europe. The hiking was hard but the rewards were plenty- culture, views and a sense of accomplishment every day. TMB, we will be back. Read my guide on oliverguide.com.❤️Courtney

On a quick mother-daughter getaway to Willamette Valley where sipping Róse or Pinot Noir are the main activities, this wine region surprised us with sophisticated fare, beautiful and uncrowded vineyards, hikes and a bit of shopping. This valley is a special place whether a wine lover or not. Think Napa and Healdsburg a few decades back --complete with grapes that are ripe for the sippin'!

Last week we were lucky enough to stay and since we booked through were upgraded to the suite of our dreams... during fashion week! Needless to say we were giddy and enjoyed every moment of luxury. We cannot thank and enough. 💕

We have found the perfect place for family reunions, big birthday celebrations, girls trips, boys trips... you name it. If you want a place to savor old world elegance, relax and take in the beauty of the English countryside with the group of your choosing, The Newton Surmaville House is it. Offering nine gorgeous bedrooms, multiple gathering spaces (including a cinema room), a gym and yoga room, expansive grounds and daily breakfast for all, we can't imagine a better place to congregate. Book now for summer 2025-- when the rest of Europe is sweltering, the temps are just about perfect here. Our new guide to the Somerville/ Dorset region (just outside the Cotswolds) will give you the scoop on the house and everything around it. Cheerio, off you go!

Our co-founder, Cynthia is back in Rome and referencing the guide she wrote to remember her favorite restaurants. Another advantage of writing a guide... a memory that doesn't fade! 💕💕

In June I was lucky enough to spend 48 hours in London and now I can't stop thinking about how I will get back...soon! We stayed at the new, luxurious and ultra private At Sloane boutique hotel in the Chelsea area and indulged in great food, shopping, art and a lot of walking. I was reminded of the beauty (and convenience) of London's parks as well as the rainy weather that does not seem to stop a true Londoner from doing anything. I have added my recent finds to Corre Larkin's London Oliver Guide as she also highlights the Chelsea neighborhood but we have more than a few guides for this locale that I suggest you read... and go!

A big, fat, Greek holiday.
Yes, please. Recently, Greece has been a buzzy locale and we have both been lucky enough to find out why (beaches, food, wine, warmth, and so many hidden treasures.) Options abound and believe us, there is no wrong way to do Greece. We have guides to help explore the quieter islands of Tinos, Paros & Forgandros (which is a favorite among locals) and the more touristy, but still special and beautiful islands of Santorini and Crete. The country is a must but we suggest you go early in the summer (now!!) to avoid crowds, heat and wind.

Our Story
www.oliverguide.com - Meet Oliver Guide, a travel sharing resource based
on recommendations from travelers you trust.
A travel sharing resource based on recommendations from travelers you can trust.
We are three avid travelers with busy lives (including kids, husbands, dogs and jobs!) who believe that half the fun of travel is planning the trip. Time and again we realized that the best trips we had were those based on our friends’ recommendations.
We were using social media to share travel recommendations or blast emails requesting recommendations prior to a trip…and we thought to ourselves – there has to be a better way to source and organize travel ideas.
Meet Oliver.
Oliver allows you to capture, plan and share your travel memories with your friends (and friends of friends, and friends of friends of friends….you get the point.)
Each week we feature a new destination filled with the skinny on how to get there, what restaurants you need to try, cocktails (yes, please) you must order, shops that will have you needing a bigger closet and the museum that you can skip.
