Do you know why Singapore is called Singapore?
Sang Nila Utama, a Srivijayan Prince from Palembang saw a creature he thought was a lion and named the island Singapura which means Lion City in Sanskrit. But truth be told, there were no lions ever in Singapore.
It's possible that the creature he saw was actually a tiger. Think about it! They could have been called Tiger City. That's so strange...

Siam Water Park in Spain: The park opened to the public on September 17, 2008.

Siam Park includes Thai theming on all of its rides, park buildings, and restaurants. The park's 25 buildings are the largest collection of Thai-themed buildings outside Thailand. The park's designer, Christoph Kiessling, received permission from the Thai royal family to use the park's name and theme; but, to respect the family's wishes, he did not copy royal palaces, temples, or statues of Buddha in the park.

In addition, the restaurants serve Thai food as well as family favorites. The park also has a Thai floating market.

Pink sand is a result of tiny red organisms that grow on the dead coral reefs and pieces of shells which fall to the ocean floor and is washed onto shore. It is also made of natural formulation of calcium carbonate from very small marine invertebrates that mixed to corals and shells and other marine things which has a red or bright pink body shell. All of these are what causes the sand to have a pink hue.

Some Ramadan traditions have faded, while some are still observed today. The Ramadan cannon was, and in some places still is, a widespread tradition across the Middle East. Cannon shots announce the end of the fast at sunset in such countries as Egypt, Qatar. Bahrain, Yemen, Sudan, Syria and Turkey. The cannon used at Ramadan isn’t a real weapon, its only function to make an echoing noise to indicate that it is time to break the fast.

The roots of this tradition can be traced back to the Fatimid era (909-1171). In the days of the Prophet Muhammad, the adhan (call for prayer) was the main way Muslims knew when to break their fasts. Over time, hearing the adhan became impossible for some far-flung Muslims, and the tradition of firing a cannon began. The tradition is fading now as technology has changed, with cannons being replaced in some places by sound bombs.

The holy month of Ramadan: Even non-Muslims can’t imagine Ramadan independently of food culture. While Muslims refrain from eating during the day in Ramadan, the fast turns to a feast at night in many Muslim countries, each of which has its special Ramadan recipes.

Mangoes are more than a fruit in the country; it is nearly a collective national obsession. Since mangoes are available for just 3-4 months in the year, a huge market for mango flavored drinks has emerged in the country to fuel this obsession!
