A tiny secluded bay and literally perched at the water’s edge, you can enjoy superb meals of freshly caught and perfectly cooked fish and local wine.

Surrounded by water on three sides, Agios Nikolaos combines the sleepy feel of a seaside resort with all the amenities of a cosmopolitan port.

According to the mythology, the goddess Athena used to take her bath in this lake!

Kourtaliotiko gorge is 22 kilometers south of Rethymnon, in Crete. You can easily access this canyon by road, leave your cars in the designated parking area, and descend into the gorge. The three-kilometer-long canyon starts from the valley near the village of Koxare, and runs between the mountains Kouroupa and Koules.
The two sides of the gorge reach up to six hundred meters, leaving you breathless in front of this natural wonder. On the bottom of those cliffs lies the Kourtaliotiko River, which crosses the gorge and flows into the palm forest of Preveli.
