KBC Copenhagen 2016 Join us for an exciting and adventurous culinary tour of Copenhagen, Denmark! July 5-11, 2015 Climb up the Round Tower for spectacular views of the city.

Discover what is so special about Denmark: the cuisine, the fabulous countryside, rich history, and the wonderful Danish people (said to be the happiest people on earth!). We’ll explore traditional Danish cuisine, as well as the new and modern concepts evolving on the Nordic cuisine frontier. We will discover traditions and innovations by dining at outstanding restaurants, bicycling throughout Cop

enhagen, enjoying a cooking class at a Michelin starred restaurant, touring a nearby castle, taking a canal tour of the historic sights, all planned during the same week as the 35th annual Copenhagen Jazz Festival! (free jazz everywhere!)

Itinerary:

Arrival Day Sunday July 5

Dinner will be at Almanak-take in the waterfront view from the beautiful dining room at The Standard and enjoy a traditional Sunday dinner. Day 2 Monday July 6
Lite breakfast at your hotel, stroll to Nyhavn. Cruise the canals and learn Copenhagen’s history…Lunch will be a traditional Danish smørrebrod at Restaurant Schønnemann. Have your first beer and snaps and learn the proper way to eat and drink this traditional Danish lunch. Stroll through the Strøget, the longest pedestrian shopping area in Europe. Cake and coffee at the Konditori La Glace, established 1870. Then it’s jazz somewhere on the streets. For the hardy ones, we’ll meet in the evening for no-host beer at Mikkeller and Friends, which some have called “the best beer bar in the world.”

Day 3 Tuesday July 7
Bike Copenhagen Day- see The Little Mermaid statue, Amalienborg Castle, The Marble Bridge, and the gardens of Frederiksberg Park. Stop at a beer hall. A modern fish dinner at the hip KødbyensFiskebar. (If we’re lucky we’ll get to taste the Sea Buckthorn Berry and Gin cocktail.) Day 4 Wednesday July 8
Road Trip! by train to Kronborg Castle and the new Danish Maritime Museum. Picnic provided by Aamans, a modern Danish open faced sandwich restaurant.
