The new Bahrain International Airport terminal follows fully comprehensive COVID-19 precautionary measures to provide a safe and comfortable travel experience for all travellers.

The new terminal has capacity for 14 million passengers a year.
The Airport Expansion Project will expand enhance the Kingdom’s connectivity and further strengthen its position as an increasingly important hub in the region. The Airport Expansion Project is one of the kingdom’s largest national development projects within the air transportation sector in the last 20 years. The project includes a new Passenger Terminal Building four times the size of the current building, with the passenger capacity increased to 14 million annually.

The project also includes a central utility complex, 5,500 parking spaces, a greatly expanded duty-free shopping area, two reception and hospitality lounges for first class and business class travellers, a private aviation building providing services for private jet owners and passengers, in addition to a central security gate, a private building for rescue and firefighting services, and an aviation fuel field.

Beginning Monday, February 22, all travellers to Bahrain are required to undergo an additional COVID-19 PCR test on the fifth day after arrival, in addition to the mandatory tests on arrival. Travellers spending more than 10 days in the Kingdom are required to take a third mandatory PCR test on the 10th day of stay.
Appointments for the COVID-19 PCR tests have to be taken on the 5th and 10th day and should be booked using the “BeAware Bahrain” app.
The total cost of all 3 tests have been reduced from BHD 40 to BHD 36.
