Most people know that China is a massive country with a population of 1.3 billion people.
What may surprise you is that the country is made up of 56 ethnic groups — 10 of which identify as Muslim.
The 10 Muslim minority groups in China are the Hui, Uyghur, Kazakh, Kirgiz, Dongxian, Salar, Tajik, Uzbek, Tartar and Bonan. There are also many converts to Islam from the Han majority.
Muslims in China will be celebrating Eid along with the rest of the world, yet they are often forgotten or even unknown to most of us.
Many are also preserving their faith and cultures in the face of ongoing adversities.

We want to encourage more people to learn about the rich histories of these groups.
Please share a message of love, unity and solidarity and tell someone who may not have heard about them.
