This was a trip to remember. What a fun day with the kids in the back lakes. Nothing better then getting the lads hooked up. Weather started off a little windy but turned out to be a nice day. Not often you can target bass in the southern zones but in the northern zones it's fully legal and also alot of fun for everyone! Today was more about spending quality time on the hardwater with friends and family but we also had a good day with plenty of fish coming top side!

What a absolute riot with the boys breaking in the north country before we start to take clients up to the French..between slamming 12 to 16 inch crappies all day..and then night fishing for walleye and burbot. What a change from my regular routine on Lake Simcoe. But saying that it's all hands on deck this week on Simcoe. What a change in pace this will be though. Can't wait to head back up north for our pre booked trips. What a great start to the 2025 season!

Back into the backcountry. Utilizing the boat was such a good idea. A little redneck ingenuity!

After a ton of leg work and planning it's great to be back on the hardwater! With the current conditions in the Simcoe area which only get worse year by year. We had to think outside the box for angling opportunities. With the French River being a world class fishery it was a easy choice to set some roots up here. So far we have located some great lakes for Walleye, Pike Crappie, Lake Trout, Brook Trout, Whitefish, Burbot and Bass! What a anglers paradise!

I have taking helicopters, sleds, quads, rail car to get into areas..never figured we would be using a boat. Lol..stupidity at it's finest

That's a wrap for us on Simcoe with the machines. The ice this year was horrible and we were fortunate to get machines out as long as we did. Thank you to everyone who made it out and we wish you the best luck during the soft water season! Hopefully next season is better to all the hardware addicts. Good luck guys and be safe if your venturing out. But for now...peace out Lake Simcoe

Lake is angry tonight. This was filmed at 12:30am Saturday Feb 24. Open water runs from Goffats Island to Cedermont Beach Point. All parties made it off safely and are back on shore. Please use extreme caution in the am if your planing to travel to the main part of the lake.

What a wild season for ice conditions so far. Good news is we are now able to get on some key areas with the sleds. ALWAYS hike the areas first before bringing a machine on the lake but many of the east side areas like Maynards are holding around 6 to 8 inches of ice right now. Quads and side by sides I will still hold off on using at the moment. Good luck to everyone this family long weekend.

Ramara Fire and Rescue Services have been busy lately. Hopefully everyone plays safe this weekend and let them have a few days off. Be safe guys

Over the last 2 days Ramara Fire & Rescue Services was out on Lake Simcoe responding to ice rescue incidents. Thankfully no one was injured.

This serves as an important reminder that no ice is safe ice. Ice conditions are unpredictable, inconsistent and potentially hazardous.
Always:
✔️ Check Ice Conditions
✔️ Plan Ahead
✔️ Tell someone where you are going
✔️ Tell someone your expected time of return
✔️ Always have 2 or more people - don't go out alone.
✔️ Wear a buoyant suit or life jacket.
✔️ Avoid unknown territory

❌ Always use extreme caution! If you don't know - don't go! ❌

Just a little heads up...but in the last two days my phone hasn't stopped ringing for getting machines out and off Lake Simcoe. This had been a horrible and unpredictable year for making ice. Today alone I received 5 different calls for helping recover machines that have broken through the ice. 2 in the north end and 3 on the east side of the lake between Beaverton and Thorah. The lake didn't freeze as uniform as expected and has left the lake with many 1 to 2 inches of ice scattered around many areas of the lake. If you haven't personally did your due dillegence I would highly suggest keeping all machines on dry land and off the main part of the lake. I'm happy no one was injured and is happly at home to fish another day! Let's try to keep these accidents from happening and cross our fingers for better weather. Be safe out there guys and no risk it for the biscuit..it's not worth it.

Some of these whities are so silver this year! Even though me and the whities don't see eye to eye the coloring on a few we caught were gorgeous shinny silver. Bait of choice was the Stealth Invader in Touchdown paired with a 1/4 oz tungsten Ned head. Depth targeted was 27 to 31ft. Notice while cleaning them they were full of small muscles and some grubs..not one goby or shiner inside them. Hopefully this weather holds up and the weatherman is wrong! Next weeks temps will kill the little ice we have

Finally nice to be able to show what we have been getting the whities on the last few years. Some of you guys had the chance to use the protype the last couple of years and thanks for keeping it on the down low. Xzone Stealth Invader! My preferred color is 309 but my favorite is Touchdown. These baits make a mess!

Went to look for new spots for burbot and these whities wouldn't leave me alone all night. This one choked the bait deep. Called it quits after 13 whities iced. What a pain these things are.

Simcoe didn't take long to lock up in the north end!! Moon Point to Victoia Point has locked up as far as the eye can see. Hopefully the winds play along and we build ice for the next 2 days! It's almost time
