Cross one thing off my Bucket list.

I was able to make the trek to Bodie yesterday and what a great experience it was! The ghost town that still lives through the care of California State Parks.

So many cool old buildings with so much stuff of everyday life left behind in them. When town decided to leave they just left what they couldn't carry away. Even the grocery store was left with all the goods still on the shelves. The two brothers who owned it, shuttered the windows and said that they would return if things got better. Well they never returned.

Hard to believe that a town that boasted up to 12 thousand, with a Main street almost a mile long, (and 65 Saloons) that it would be reduced to this. Having two devastating fires didn't help.

I highly recommend a visit to Bodie! If you don't believe me, just ask John Wayne and U2...

Hey Folks, we are going to have the historic 1853 Hiram Scott house open tomorrow between 2-4 PM. Come by and learn about Scotts Valley history, which is also Santa Cruz history!

We are very thankful that the Alfred Hitchcock Festival went off without a Hitch! Great movies and speakers made it so special to be there.

Anyone that is interested in film history, especially Film Noir, and the background of making of Hitch's movies and TV shows should put this event on your calendar for next year!🎥🎞

If you know me, you know I love history and the nostalgia of growing up in the 1960's and 70's. Dirt bikes in the desert or California were a big part of my life and my Kids lives.

I feel it shaped their personalities and brought us closer. Working on our machines and teaching them how to ride. Even if you got a bump or a bruise, you sucked it up and kept on having the fun.

I miss that fun, but I am hoping that I now can bring some new fun and learning experience to my Grandchildren. Check out this old school film that many will remember...

Today is Groundhog day in Punxsutawney Pa! And this always reminds me of one of my favorite 90's Movies by the same name... I still find that my wife and I get up some days and say at the same time it's another Groundhog Day!

I had no idea that the celebration goes back so far into the past. Check out the KSBW story on it, and enjoy the fact that we just have to deal with heavy rains,(and some flooded rivers) But no heavy freezes, and frozen rivers...
