"S" WORD: A cold core upper low will bring the risk of rain or snow showers to the northern third of Alabama Thursday night into Friday morning.

At this point we see no need to panic...

*Moisture will be very limited
*Soil temperatures are relatively warm for late December
*Surface temperatures should be mostly above freezing

Of course, any forecast could change. But for now it looks like this won't be a big issue in terms of impact (travel, etc). We will watch model trends closely.
