Your accommodation is situated on the ground floor with your private bathroom with shower, and your own cloakroom and entrance, so you can come and go as you please. The large comfortable bedroom has twin beds, sofa, chest of drawers and wardrobe. The bedroom is centrally heated and there is tea and coffee making facilities in your room. Directly outside your room is a patio area with seating which catches the sun all day. You will have full use of our large conservatory where you can sit, read and eat. There is also internet access, plus Wi-Fi throughout the house. Set in nearly two acres of grounds, you are welcome to walk and explore at your leisure. Full breakfast is included in the package, using locally sourced produce, including home grown fruit and vegetables. We are happy to tailor make your breakfast by prior arrangement. It’s the ideal setting for the complete get away from the hustle and bustle of every day life. No neighbours or noise, only sheep, fields and trees! Can be used as a base to explore the natural beauty of Kerry and all it has to offer, or just sit back and relax, enjoy the tranquility, our green countryside and stunning mountains. The views are spectacular and plenty of walks along the Kerry Way are right on our doorstep, free of traffic. If flying in, you will need a hire car to make the most of your trip. Glenmore is a haven for nature lovers, flora and fauna alike. Birds and wildlife including white tailed sea eagles, gold crests and countless other birds can be seen most days although cant be guaranteed! Wild goats, red and sika deer, wild hares and more can be seen all around us. Along most roadsides you can see wild growing fuchsia bushes, along with stunning rhododendron in a variety of colours, huge gunnera plants and palm trees! Our road weaves around the southern side of the beautiful Lough Currane, which is renowned for the some of the best salmon and sea trout angling in Europe, so the perfect place to stay for keen fishermen. Guiding with boat can be arranged for the lochs plus beach fishing, and have use of our rod room. Tide tables and flies are also available for your convenience. You are free to use our large beautiful conservatory with seating and dining areas. Patio area and seating right outside your accommodation which enjoys the sun all day. You are welcome to look round the grounds and our small fruit and vegetable gardens. Full use of our utility room is also available. This is our home which we share with our three friendly dogs. We will give you our full attention as our only guests. We can give you lots of friendly advice on the many attractions around this area, including walks on the Kerry Way, advice on sea and loch fishing (including hire of boat and guide). We can give more information in advance of your stay and would be happy to pre-book any attractions for you. At the bottom of the road lays the Atlantic Ocean and the picturesque little village of Waterville, overlooking the stunning Ballinskelligs Bay, with a good selection of restaurants, cafes, friendly bars, gift shops and village markets, plus the Sea Synergy Marine Awareness and Activity Centre. The village is proud of its Charlie Chaplin Statue and hosts the annual Charlie Chaplin Comedy Film Festival in August. Close by are a number of fabulous beaches, most being sand. They are clean and quiet, which sometimes means you have the whole shore line to yourselves! The artist, the archaeologist, the ornithologist and the general holiday maker will find numerous attractions which include angling, golfing, water sports, horse riding, hill walking, bird watching, Irish pub life, friendly atmosphere and of course friendly people. Waterville is also a renowned golfing destination with two world-class golf courses, Waterville Links being a Championship Course. Both have some of the most dramatic views in Europe and one is at the beginning of our road, the other just a ten minute drive. Step back in time and relax in this beautiful part of Ireland. On January 27th 2014 an area of Southwest Kerry, including Waterville, was made an International Dark-Sky Gold Tier Reserve, the only place in the northern hemisphere to get the accreditation, which certifies it as one of the world’s best sites to observe the Milky Way. The beautiful night sky in Glenmore is something to behold, the stars will take your breath away. South West Kerry is surrounded on three sides by the wild Atlantic Ocean, covered in rolling hills and rugged mountains, including Ireland’s three highest peaks. First class beaches and coves to explore with outstanding scenery to be seen everywhere you go. Packed lunches and evening meals can be supplied by prior arrangement. We are happy to book any trips before you come on your behalf. A wealth of archaeological, botanical and historical features is waiting to be discovered. The terrain offers a variety of types, from bog land, to mountains, pasture, seashore and islands, all with a high degree of scenic beauty. The sea-shore in the Waterville area which stretches from Bolus Head to Lambs Head offers an amazing diversity of natural formations ranging from beaches, cliffs, inlets, to headlands, bays and rocky foreshores. This makes it perfect for bass, mullet and po***ck fishing. Bottlenose dolphins, grey seals and basking sharks can often been seen from the beach side and cliffs. The area is rich in archaeological remains with nearby Staigue Fort, Lohar Fort, Cathair Domhnaill, Church Island, Derrynane Abbey, many sites of Standing Stones and of course the most famous of all – the Skelligs Rock. The Kerry Way, the route from Cahersiveen to Waterville, covers a distance of approx. 30km. Waterville is listed as a Special Area of Conservation due to surrounding habitat of Atlantic Salt meadows and Mediterranean salt meadows. Windsurfers and kite-surfers can enjoy the power of nature! Very close by to Waterville, surfers can find both beach and reef breaks that are clean and crowd free.
