Almost all of the bike accidents I witnessed during my 20 years attending the Sturgis Rally were caused by a rider crossing the center line, and then clipping a bike (or worse yet) a large truck going the opposite direction. All those accidents were serious, in one a guy lost his leg below the knee running into one of our Sysco semi’s, and 3 folks lost their lives. All of these accidents were totally avoidable had safety been a higher priority than looking cool hard leaning at a high rate of speed into the corners.

1) I knew I’d eventually own a motorcycle.
