Today I was using the internet in a centre right next to the camp where we work.

A boy, I guess maybe 12 years old came and sat next to me. He asked where I am from. He is from Syria. He told me his mum and sister are in a camp in Portugal, his dad and brother in Germany and his other brother and him here in Greece. His voice was so clear when he told me how much he misses his family and his home.

I asked if he was happy. He said he was, but sometimes he is sad. We agreed that it is ok to feel sad sometimes. We looked each other in the eyes for a while whilst smiling in silence.
He told me he was moved to a hotel and that he can finally sleep because it is warm, but he does miss our activities. When I told him that we are doing everything to get permission to come to the hotel and have a movie night there with all the kids his face lights up: 'Thank you sooooooo much!' He laid his head on my arm for a moment and he was gone.
I feel so blessed to be here.
