Your plan should fit onto one side of A4 and no more.

Just followed up on a telemarketing lead I had before Christmas. I had tried to get hold of this chap 2 or 3 times with no success. Just tried him this morning, he picked up the phone and we have a meeting arranged for Wednesday the 11th of March. Follow up is the key to your business growth.

FOLLOW UP , FOLLOW UP , FOLLOW UP. If you follow up on the leads you have had in the last 3 months, I can guarantee that you will get some business from it. The bad news is that most of us don't do it. The good news it that your competitors don't either. So make it your rule to ALWAYS FOLLOW UP.

Telemarketing obstacle number 1: GATEKEEPER. Don't open with: "Can I speak to the owner of the business please?" NEVER SAY THIS! Get your contact name (if you can) beforehand & be honest, open & friendly about who you are & the company you are calling from. Don't be ashamed of you, the nature of your call or what you aim to get from the call! Have faith in your product, service or message & your prospects will too.
