After many years away from TCM,Sabotage had the absolute pleasure of returning to promotions with producer Scott Mcgee on a mini doc with Directors Steven Spielberg & Martin Scorsese titled
“Out There in the Dark”.
The piece was about the directors first experience as children at the cinema.
Mr. Mcgee got to interview both these legends. There was one catch,final approval was not only a requirement but a necessity by both directors. No problem…Gulp.
We thought it only right to shoot at our most cherished movie theater in Atlanta,The Plaza; The theater where cinefiles, young & old continue to experience movies on the larger than life silver screen.
Owner Chris Escobar, who’s spent countless hours and money revitalizing this space to be a continued sanctuary for Atlanta, loved the idea and made space in the theater’s renovation schedule to have us.
It only made sense to hire the most talented person I’ve every known, my mentor and friend Willie Giles. He compiled his amazing crew to shoot in a highly compressed work day…because we had to move fast and get it right.
