ARTIST HIGHLIGHT!

Ken Christensen is a classic, on-site landscape painter with influences filtered down from the French Impressionists and Fauves. He paints with the vision, color, and verve of such painters as Van Gogh, Vlaminck, Marquet and Derain and with the American perspective of Hopper and Benton.

Ken Christensen paints with an intensity and bravura that reveals the glory and beauty of even the most mundane scenes. Rather than the standard post card views, Mr. Christensen seeks out the particular that his personal vision can raise to the universal.

Ken will be teaching the painting workshop that is coming up in June, so be sure to register for that and come see us in Hydra, Greece!

Escape to an artist’s retreat and painting workshop on the beautiful Island of Hydra in Greece and learn from the renowned artist, Ken Christensen.

Painting Workshop Details:
ISLAND OF HYDRA, GREECE
June 3-17, 2015

The Workshop is for 10 days, with time off to visit the nearby islands of Spetsai and Poros. Another day we will take a private boat to a secluded beach for a day of swimming and snorkeling. We can take a a walk to a remote monastery at sunrise.

Painting classes will be held in a peaceful garden surrounded by lemon trees and grapevines, or on the port. We will also be painting in Kamini. All levels of painters are invited to participate in these classes.

As Hydra has always been an artist’s colony, we will find an infinite number of inspiring spots to paint. You might want to live like this forever.

The package price is $1,575 per person and includes accomodations in Athens and Hydra, 4 transfers, 2 hydrofoils and guide services. Airfare and food not included.
