Our family is on to new adventures this year! COVID-19 has changed everyone’s lives, and this year we have decided to make the change to homeschool for our kiddos.

With that being said, I have decided to step away from a lot of roles and travel agent is one of them. I want to thank everyone that has booked with me during this venture. If you still need a travel agent, I know some pretty great ones at Mouse Bound Vacations.

We have a TON of new information this morning coming from Walt Disney World on their new procedures and practices as they get ready to reopen on July 11. Sit back and take it all in! As always, if you are a client of Mouse Bound Vacations, we are on top of all of this news and will be reaching out to anyone affected by these procedural changes. We ask that you please grant us some grace and patience during this time as we will need to work in travel date order, first starting with July 11 check-ins.

✨ To manage attendance during this reopening period Disney is introducing the new Disney Park Pass system which will launch on June 22. During this time, all guests with a ticket or Annual Pass will be required to make a reservation in advance for each park entry, using this new online tool.

Here are a few important details to know about this new system:

* You will need a My Disney Experience account, as this is where your Walt Disney World Resort plans are stored and managed.
* You will also need a valid theme park ticket or Annual Pass that’s linked to your My Disney Experience account.
* If you have a Disney Resort hotel reservation, be sure to link it to this My Disney Experience account beforehand, as well.
* Once you've logged into your My Disney Experience account and linked your ticket, you'll have access to a calendar of available reservation dates for each theme park. If you have a multi-day ticket, you will be required to make a park reservation for each date of their visit. Families and friends can link their tickets together and look to arrange theme park entries at the same time.

Please note, park reservations are limited in number and subject to availability. Availability can change until the reservation is finalized. At this time, guests will be able to select one park per day; visiting more than one park per day will be temporarily unavailable upon the reopening of the theme parks due to attendance limitations. Disney hopes to bring back the ability to visit more than one park per day soon and will continue to offer these add-ons for 2021 ticket purchases.

✨ Planning a New Trip for Next Year: By June 28, we will be able to book new Disney Resort hotel packages and theme park tickets and make park reservations for arrivals starting in 2021 as Disney's phased reopening continues. If you have a quote request in for 2021, we will be working on those requests just as soon as inventory is available to us and will reach out to you to discuss.

✨ As we begin planning your upcoming visits, Disney is also exploring engaging ways for guests to use their mobile tech to experience the magic – particularly now as the use of phones and apps continues to evolve. In 2021, Disney plans to unveil an innovative new offering as part of the My Disney Experience app that will bring features of a MagicBand to your smart devices, building on the app’s existing digital key feature. With this new offering on the horizon, Disney will be retiring their complimentary MagicBand distribution to Disney Resort hotel guests for new reservations with arrivals beginning Jan. 1, 2021. Disney Resort hotel guests will continue to have the option to purchase new MagicBands at a discount, and they will be introducing even more colors and designs featuring favorite Disney characters in the future. Guests who prefer not to purchase a discounted MagicBand will be able to use the My Disney Experience app or a Key to the World card during their visit. Disney will still offer MagicBands in retail locations and on shopDisney.com, and guests will be able to continue using the wearable bands throughout Walt Disney World Resort.

Disney will be reopening soon, but here is what you need to know if you have a Disney trip planned in 2020.

In case you missed it, this week Disney shared some big news about Walt Disney World® Resort, including plans to welcome guests back to the theme parks as part of a phased reopening beginning July 11, pending state approval. We received updates tonight on the reopening:

We know many of you are excited to return to the magic and make new memories with your family, friends, and loved ones. As Disney previously shared, as we take these next steps forward, they are introducing enhanced health and safety measures reflecting guidance from health authorities and appropriate government agencies.

When the theme parks reopen, they will manage attendance through a new theme park reservation system on DisneyWorld.com that will require all Guests to make a reservation in advance for theme park entry. Over the coming weeks, we will be making some necessary updates to prepare for the launch of this park reservation system. Here’s some important information to help you plan ahead:

▫️New Ticket Sales and Hotel Reservations: At this time, Disney is temporarily pausing new ticket sales and Disney Resort hotel reservations to focus on Guests with existing tickets and reservations. Existing ticket holders and Annual Passholders will be able to make a theme park reservation before new tickets are sold; Disney will be reaching out to these Guests soon to provide additional details. Disney will resume new sales of tickets and Disney Resort hotel reservations after that period of time. Theme park reservations will be limited due to attendance limitations and will be subject to availability.

▫️Dining and Experiences: In order to foster physical distancing during this time, upon reopening, Disney's offerings, restaurants and other experiences such as behind-the-scenes tours will be limited in capacity, and other experiences may remain closed. As a result of limited capacity, Disney made the difficult decision to cancel all existing dining reservations and experience bookings, including Disney dining plans included in packages, through the end of the year. They will reopen dining and experience bookings with more limited numbers closer to when the parks reopen. We will also shift from a 180-day booking window to a 60-day booking window for dining and experience bookings going forward to allow Guests to make their plans closer to their visits.

▫️FastPass+ and Extra Magic Hours: As a result of the COVID-19 impact, the FastPass+ service will be suspended for the time being as they plan to use additional queue space to manage capacity at attractions and maintain physical distancing. We will automatically cancel existing FastPass+ selections and share any future updates on the service at a later date. Also, please note that upon reopening, Extra Magic Hours will be temporarily suspended.

Disney will be reaching out to Guests affected by these updates with additional information and details on options, including refunds. They understand how much excitement, thought and time goes into planning a Disney vacation and realize some of these changes may be disappointing. Please know both Disney and I (Your trusted travel advisor) will be here to help you, as Disney remains focused on delivering a wonderful experience for everyone who visits.

IT’S HAPPENING!!!!!! We have positive news from Walt Disney World this morning! Plans for a phased re-opening have been proposed to the Florida Economic Task Force and as of now, Walt Disney World is planning to re-open as follows:

✨Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom – Saturday, July 11, 2020

✨EPCOT and Hollywood Studios – Wednesday, July 15, 2020

✅There will be a reservation system used where you will need to reserve your entrance to the park. More on that process to come.

✅Face masks will be required by all guests. At this time, there will be no fireworks, parades or character interactions. Temperature scans will also be required.

For clients who have trips booked on or after the re-opening dates, your Mouse Bound Vacations Travel Specialist will be in contact with you to discuss the new requirements and help you plan accordingly. Please note, we will reach out to clients in the order they are booked, so we do ask for your patience during this time.

I will be at Walt Disney World, checking in on July 12. I am VERY EXCITED to show you first hand all of the new safety protocols and procedures to help make you more comfortable with your vacation and answer any questions that you might have about travel during these unprecedented times.

Just over here dreaming of our next trip to Disney when things get back to normal. Story time with Belle is a great experience at Magic Kingdom for all those Beauty and the Beast fans. Madison got to play the role as the beast and danced with Belle, which she absolutely loved!

Although travel has been put on a standstill, I’m still working hard on rebooking clients, making dining reservations, and helping new clients put together a future trip.

Our family goal for 2020 is less stuff and more adventures. There is a world out there to see and we only have a few more years with our girls at home.

Thinking back how fast the last decade went, I can only imagine how fast this one will go. To think that I will have two adult children after this decade is over breaks my heart.

Our intention this year is to declutter our lives and possess less material objects. Keep the things we love and use, and get rid of the rest. Less stuff to clean, organize, and buy. More time spent together playing games, reading, going on adventures that give us memories to look back on so that we can say we truly lived. We want to go on more vacations instead of spending money on things that break and go out of fashion.

This is the year we get free from debt so that we can take those dream vacations and travel to places we never thought possible.

I highly recommend putting a Run Disney race on your bucket list if you are a Disney fan. The Wine and Dine half marathon was so fun last year. My husband and I ran it together for our 10 year anniversary trip.

Spent the weekend traveling to the Target Cup in Barboursville, WV. The girls had a blast and took 2nd place in their bracket.

I love watching them play, but I also enjoy when the season is over so we have more free time during the week and on weekends. We are looking forward to some weekend travels as a family. We may hit up a zoo or a collegiate sporting event.
