y, no running water, no internet, no phone, no bridge – nothing but rocks, a million trees, and underbrush so thick you couldn’t walk through it. BUT…the property had the most beautiful little crystal clear creek and we had a BIG DREAM. We slept in a tent and a shed at first, carried water from the creek, bathed in a washtub. We’ve lived in the little travel trailer for almost four years now, we originally called it The Tiny Taj, but we renamed it The Happy Camper. Additionally we’ve diligently worked repurposing and reclaiming all kinds of materials to build our little paradise on the creek. We’ve turned a forty-year old shed into a guest Bunkhouse right on the creek for visiting family and friends. It was so popular we then listed it on Airbnb as a vacation rental, and we earn additional income from it. We’ve built a woodshed, writing cottage, outdoor kitchen for The Happy Camper, a garden and 100’s of other projects. We’re building a little house (850 sq ft) right beside the creek – for cash – so it’s not a speedy process. And we're converting an old bus into a tiny house on wheels for traveling, our skoolie. Here on this page we’ve decided to share the good and the bad, the great and the disappointing, so that others might enjoy our story, and perhaps fuel their own aspirations of dream chasing.
