Creekside Living
We dreamed of living on a creek. That dream came true. Like and share our page to follow our story of simple living on a homestead created in the middle of a great big forest.
Cabin on the Creek Rental - Ozark Mountains Southeastern Missouri
When we converted an old shed into a little rental cabin, we never anticipated the impact it would have on those who stay here. It is truly a place of peace and serenity where lives are changed. Cabin on the Creek Rental - Ozark Mountains Southeastern Missouri
We plan to have lots of adventures with our skoolie renovation. These two furbabies will definitely be along for the ride #skooliegirl #skoolieguy #redshedchronicles #zippyandbuddy
We Got The Bus!
OH MY.....THIS HAPPENED !!!! Took the church women about 3 minutes on the party line to vote to ditch the bus and take the cash. So we blew down to nearly the Arkansas line as fast as we could this afternoon, tossed Pastor Joe the loot, snatched the title, and got the heck outta there before the church could hold another business meeting. On the road to Annapolis!!! More stories later...... #skooliegirl #skoolieguy #redshedchronicles
A Little Something for the Writing Cottage...
One of my Daddy's favorite places. Bradley's Creek in Western North Carolina. Enjoy your Water Fix, friends. Water is a healer. If you want to feel hope and renewal, find some water (or listen to the many creeks and waterfalls on our page). Water cleanses our soul and soothes our brain.
Waterfalls at Cedar Bottoms
Water is healthy and healing. And...it makes us happy! So we are going to start sharing more of our water with our readers for your relaxation. Thanks for liking and sharing. These falls, Falls at Cedar Bottoms, are not very far from our house. This water runs under the road and directly into St. Francis River.
Here's your Weekend Water Fix. Water restores and rejuvenates our soul. This piece of stream is right beside our Bunkhouse. The dog wasn't really supposed to have a cameo in this video, but she is ever present. Her name is Zippy.

Bridge is GONE! Flooding...
Flooding in our area has put the hurt on The Homestead. Our only way in and out.....GONE! Financially painful to need a new bridge - and SOON! Never a dull moment turning a forest into a home. Some days it just isn't gonna go your way.....
Hummer Bliss
Here on the Homestead we love to feed the hummingbirds. We probably have 100-150 currently. This feeder looks empty but it isn't, the bottom is full. This makes us happy so we put up the ka-ching during the summer for this socialistic endeavor! BLISS! Hope you enjoy, come sit a spell by the creek, watch the birds, fill up on some hope and healing. May your day be happiness filled.
Love the rain here on the homestead. This video is taken from the outdoor seating area near The Bunkhouse. (I'm standing under an umbrella....everyone stands in the pouring rain holding a nice camera in one hand, an umbrella in the other, taking video....right?) This view is facing west, or "up the creek". Little House in progress at the end of the drive.
Here's your frosty morning freezing cold creek fix! Bite your cheeks cold here on the homestead.
Winter time by our little creek. Very quiet in the coldness.
Wooly Worm - Witness to Winter
Winter is definitely coming......
Creekside stress reliever. We invest in these little birds. Probably about $250 a year. Why? Because our goal is to always be finding ways to renew, refresh, enjoy and de-stress. These hummers help us do that. Grab a feeder at your local store and attract your own hummers, just for fun. Mix 1 c boiling water with 1 c sugar, stirring to dissolve sugar. Then add 3 c cold water and a few drops red coloring. Fill feeder and let the fun begin!
Part of our summer focus is always on our visiting friends and family. Last year we turned a shed into a bunkhouse for our guests. One of our middle sons and his family arriving in a few minutes. Creek's up, sheets are clean.......bring on the fun!
It's that time of year again. Love these birds.
Progress. So looking forward to living in this little house.
