Thank you for making it possible for us to bring a group of birders out to explore Spectacle Island. What a beautiful day! While our dreamed-of migration fallout didn’t happen, we still managed to find find cool birds and observe some interesting behaviour. And what a fantastic group of birders we had! Special extra thanks to and — our partner on this adventure. If you’re a Boston resident and prefer not to drive to bird, considering joining the folks at Allston-Brighton Birders, one of MA’s 25-ish bird clubs all of which offer trips, talks and much more.

Our next trip is Saturday in Wayland. Thanks for conserving this beautiful place! A few spots our still available. Visit the website for more details.

We’re planning an urban birding Festival for 2021 — a Festival that celebrates Massachusetts and New England birding, habitat conservation, and the many environmental leaders that protect this region and advocate for its wild places. It’s not enough at this moment in history just to love birds. We must also confront the urgent challenges they face. We’ve lost almost a third of all our birds in the past 50 years. It’s time to learn and time to take action. Whatever we do for birds helps other species, improves critical habitat, and increases environmental resilience. Join us for four days of extraordinary birding, learning, and taking action for wild places.
