One of the famous Muslimah Models in Malaysia contacted us few months ago. She wanted to have city tour in Fukuoka with her toddler.

Your trip in Japan isn't complete without a ride on one of its famed bullet trains so called shinkansen.

Here in Fukuoka, there's a very short line of shinkansen with affordable fare, only 600 JPY for return trip!

The start point is from Hakata Station and the destination is Hakata Minami Station. The distance between that two stations is 8,5 km and it takes only around 8 minutes (one way) by shinkansen.

Just like this Taiwanese couple, to celebrate the wife birthday, the husband arranged a trip to Fukuoka for only two of them.

TraveLearn teamed up with a Japanese senior guide for the "Hakata Old Town" walking tour for this Taiwanese couple.

We visited an old tea shop "Sakura" where you can find various types of tea from Kyushu and Japanese wedding gifts, displayed prettily in their shop.

From the explanation, Japanese Grooms in Kyushu present a high quality of tea in their wedding gift along with some other stuffs such as a ring, fishes, sake, dolls and some beautiful crafts in the shape of turtle, crane which simbolized long life of happiness as husband and wife.

And the price tags show that the Groom spend more money than the Bride for this wedding gifts.

We stopped by for a while at the Japanese old theater. Perhaps all of the audiences are elderly. Same goes with the performers, all of them are men in their 60th but then dressed and put beautiful make up as women.

We then peeked into a grave of famous Chinese Trader, Xie Guo Ming, who had successfully established his business in Hakata. He did many good deeds, helping the poor and donating for the Shotenji Temple.

Before we reach our last destination, Shotenji Temple, we had a brief stop in another small tea shop. Though the space is narrow but it's very cozy, unfortunately we can't sit and enjoy tea inside.

Could tell easily that this Taiwanese couple have a nice relationship. During the trip instead of showing "public display affection", they communicate and express their love through warm gestures like a best friend.

It seemed the wife got a wonderful birthday gift wrapped with lovely moments they've spent together.

Psstt psst... it seems this is one from many reasons why Japanese have a long life expectancy. They attend this kind of social event, a live jazz performance!

And I was there, accompanied my landlord who will soon reach her 80 years. She enjoyed the performance by the local band.

Kinda surprised to find out how cool this group band, the MIOSIC. Their origin is from Kurume, neighbor city of Fukuoka. Three of the musicians met in America when they're studied music there.

Inspiring Japanese Postman

During my study period here in Fukuoka, whenever I felt lazy to go to the campus especially in winter or summer. I am always motivated by the Japanese Postman who passed by in front of my apartment.

Yes, they showed me the true high passion for work. A genuine enthusiasm on what are they doing no matter if it's rain or how hot or cold the weather is.

I do always enjoy my visit to post office. Either for withdrawing money at the atm or send packages. They always make cute display decorations based on the 4 seasons or important event in Japan such as new year, obon, etc.

Today is 敬老の日 Keirō no Hi, a Japanese public holiday celebrated annually to honor elderly citizens.

When this festival held, it means autumn season is coming. Hojoya Festival, one of the biggest famous festivals in Fukuoka is conducted from September 12 to 18th every year.

It takes place along the more than 1-km street, approach from the “ootorii” gate to the “honden” (main hall) of Hakozaki-gu Shrine.

Around 500 street stalls are set up, creating quite a sight. Those street stalls selling various things like apple candy shops, grilled squid shops, goldfish scooping stands, and shooting galleries, there are also other stalls that have a retro atmosphere, such as a haunted house and a show tent – which are rare now to see in other places.

Almost a month since their trip in Japan, suddenly one of the UiTM participants sent me these heart warming messages❤️❤️❤️

She was the group leader of this trip. Together we managed the study workshop trip for 30 people only 1,5 months before they depart to Japan.

We believe that Allah helped us passed through many challenges. From the accommodation, transportation, food, interpreter and guests lectures, we managed everything in a very limited time and budget even free for the lectures, alhamdulillah ❤️.

It's in Kitakyushu, the neighbor city of Fukuoka. Moji in the ancient time famous with foreign trade activities. Located at the water frontside, they built western style buildings as the appreciation of western architecture.

Walking through the beautiful buildings along the shore. The retro atmosphere, bring me back to the old era of Japan, perhaps Taisho.

Some of the famous buildings that reccomended to visit are: Mojiko Station, the Old Moji Customs Building and the former Mitsui Club. In this last building, you may try making cool live animation from your own drawing. Not only kids, adults definitely will enjoy this activity.

This area is also well known for having originated the sales pitch for bananas. That is why I found banana like sculptures there.

When visiting Moji end of August, you might see an annual festival. People flocked in all of the public open spaces. The performer with their colorful costumes and the spectators watching various performances, enhanced the space liveliness.

As the last activity, go to the observation building where you can see the 360 degrees beautiful view of Moji and its surroundings. It was gorgeous for only 300 JPY!

Do you love art? Though sometimes it's hard to understand the meaning behind artwork but it's still something interesting and can be related with our daily lives.

Fukuoka lately held many art events. Slowly but sure this city will be recognized as the city of art and culture, not only for the scale of Asia.

This month from 5th-9th September, the event of "Art Fair Asia Fukuoka" will be held again for the 5th times.

Located at Fukuoka Mitsukoshi, Hotel Okura Fukuoka and Fukuoka Asian Art Museum, artists from in and out of Japan exhibit their artworks.

Any movie freaks will visit Fukuoka from 13 to 19 September? Then you're lucky! There will be Fukuoka International Film Festival held in those days.

The main venue will be at Canal City Hakata (in Hakata-Ku [Hakata-Ward] of Fukuoka City). The main theater will be United Cinemas Canal City 13 and there will be a total of 15 films from several countries.
