This is not so surprising. Many people are desperate to get a visa to one country or the other to carry out their business assignment or visit their loved ones or looking for a greener pastures that Nigeria as a nation have not really offered in a long while.that is why-the industry is so saturated with those who take advantage of innocent travelers.
If you want to hire a visa agent for your next visa application, take time to look out for the following signs,they are the quickest ways to detect if whom you are entrusting your money and time with, is a scam or not.
(1). Fake visa agent cannot Explain in details or clear terms, how they would help you with your visa application. Fake visa agents have problems with explaining their methods of operation to you, the reason is because they either have none or because such methods are not beneficial to you. So many fake agents pose as a visa agents but many of them do not know much or nothing about visa application process. Hence they do not have any information to share with their clients.
(2). Fake visa agents make unreasonable promises. If there is anything to help keep fake visa agents at bay, it is avoiding those who make unreasonable promises. Many fake visa agents think that the best way to win your heart is to keep lying to you, they will tell you that you don’t need to meet Embassy requirements to get your visa. Besides they won’t tell you what they are helping you with but they will keep asking you for more and more and more money, and they will tell you that visa is 💯guaranteed. Truth be told, it’s getting more and more difficult to get visa in Nigeria these days because of our history and poor records of not coming back home after our visit. So if anyone tells you otherwise, be careful with that fellow.if it sounds too easy, investigate before committing your time and money.
(3). Fake visa agents do not have a timeline for your visa application.
These is another common thing about fake visa agents, especially the registered or even some traceable ones. It may surprise you to know that some fake visa agents are registered, but these are wolfs in sheeps clothings,they are the ones who take advantage of a naturally time consuming visa application process to defraud the unsuspecting public. How they do this is very simple. They will tell you that your application have been submitted on your behalf, and that the embassy is working on it. They will never show you any proof of application submission nor do you get any form of feedback from the so called embassy. Remember that it is very easy to play this Gimmick if they are helping you to apply for a work permit visa. They will pass on the blame to the embassy and claim that they have no idea when the embassy will reach a conclusion on your application.
(4).fake visa agents cannot account for what they are charging you for.usually a fake visa agent will not know how much or understand what their service will cost, they will call you from time to time for additional money and fees without concrete explanation of what the money is meant for.
(5).the Internet is a nobody’s land, this is why you should make due diligence when hiring a visa agent whom you have only come across online. Ask to meet them, ask if there physical address and pay them a visit, even if the person is using his home as office. Just get to meet them even though there are some cases where some high level fake visa agents own a physical and attractive but temporary office, but if you visit them your intuition will tell you that there is an error, based on their explanation because they will most likely keep telling you why you should deposit with them the half payment because that’s all they care about.
(6). Fake visa agents will never be recommended to you. But remember that not all recommendations are genuine because a fraudulent character can recommend another fraudulent character to you. So you have to be extremely careful, who’s recommending someone to you should be who you trust,everything that glitters are not Gold.there are still many credible visa agents , but it takes your own intelligence,intuition, investigation and recommendations to locate them.and you have to understand that the fact an credible visa agent works with you and the visa was not approved does not make him a fake agent. Because genuine visa agents don’t approve visa, they only help you procure original and verifiable documents for the package of your visa application in a professional manner.
