Barrow Systems, Inc. At Barrow Systems, we are an innovation based company that has been designing and implementing refrigeration solutions for the beverage industry since 1977.

Our mission is to provide systems that production and maintenance personnel find functional, reliable, and easy to operate to maximize production and efficiency. We offer overall high quality system designs, efficient automatic industrial control systems, equipment specification and sales, and consulting services on any area of the refrigeration process. Our system designs have been tailored to su

pport the food industry with emphasis on beverage, juice and water. Over our history, we have applied for and received four United States Patents, the last of which was awarded in June of 2017 for our Refrigerant Relief Valve Monitoring and Reporting System (RRVMRS). Our vision, “Making Environmental Safety a Priority,” is a cornerstone of the RRVMRS because it was designed to enhance and promote Ammonia Safety. PREVENTION of an ammonia relief valve release is the ultimate goal of the system, however in the event of a release, the RRVMRS provides critical timing, location and loss data giving the operator factual and accurate reporting information when Regulatory compliance hangs in the balance. Today, Barrow Systems Inc, rises to the challenges of technologies and the needs of the industry we serve. We never forget our roots and the lessons learned as we have moved from greenhorn to seasoned. We service our clients with knowledge, experience and a genuine love for the industries we serve. Barrow Systems........Practiced, Reliable, Innovative.

We thank you for your interest in the Refrigerant Relief Valve Monitoring and Reporting System©.

We have produced a video to show what the system does in real time during an actual high pressure release. We have a full size test stand at our location with ammonia relief valves and a supply of dry nitrogen to blow them. This video depicts what you would see If you were here to observe a relief valve blow.

Prevention of an ammonia release is our primary goal with this system, however if a release of ammonia does occur, this system is designed to provide the facility with pertinent information necessary to comply with the E.P.A.’s reporting obligation.

We have our Blow Video up on YouTube.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3CMvp2HQbEk&feature=youtu.be

The video used in conjunction with the presentation should tell the whole story. The video is just of the relief valve release with the screens associated with the alarms. The first screen is the “System Status” Screen is all green (green indicating normal pressure) with no alarms.

Once the pressure rises to 200 lbs, in the test stand vessel, the first alarm is displayed the vessel is "Above Normal Pressure.” The “Vessel Status” screen appears which displays the vessel status and vessel pressure.

As the pressure continues to rise to 225 lbs, in the test stand vessel the second alarm is displayed. The vessel is at “Vessel High Pressure.” The “Vessel Status” screen continues to be displayed with the vessel status and vessel pressure. This alarm also annunciates with and audible alarm.

When a relief valve does blow, the “Event Monitor” screen appears. The “Event Monitor” screen also incorporates the “Vessel Status” screen as well as when an ammonia relief valve has a release event. This system takes the guesswork out the event details, such as which relief valve released, the Start time of the Release, the End time of the Release, the Duration of the Release, and the Pounds of ammonia Loss during the Release.

We hope that this writing helps explain the video. There is no speaking during the video so the viewer can listen to the sounds as the event is progressing. We hope you find the video enlightening.
