It's that time again! Here's a preview from the first session of the term.

It's crazy that it's been less than two years since I started shooting astrophotography and how much I've learned and grown since then. Techniques, camera/lens combinations, settings have changed drastically since I first started even though to some my first photo may have been acceptable. It's all about the drive to better yourself and be critical of yourself in order to produce higher quality work. I'm super happy with how far I've come but it just goes to show it takes time to learn these things. 2 years of trial and error before getting it right.

Tip to anyone beginning (photography in general actually), don't upgrade cameras until you do everything you can to maximize the cameras potential. You will learn a tremendous amount trying to compensate for limitations instead of relying on the newest and greatest to compensate for your limitations as a photographer. When you do feel you finally ran out of things you could do to improve your work, only then should you upgrade.

Making the most of my long commutes to school

I spent a Saturday morning experimenting with daytime long exposures.

It was cloudy out so I opted to try set things up for a black and white. What did I learn today? Processing black and white photography is a lot harder than it looks. Let me know if there's anything else I should have done differently.
