It is with great pride, excitement, and sadness that we at LVCC offer our herd to you. This sale is packed with breed leading genetics and we are sure that there is something here that will work well in your environment and breeding program. These mature cows are in their prime and have many good years left in them, with many 3&4 year old cows selling. The calves represent the heart and soul of ou
r program and were the future of LVCC. What is most impressive is the uniformity of the calf crop and the quality from top to bottom. They truly are right for the times and we are very proud of this calf crop and all they have to offer. We feel that many of the cattle here are destined to do great things for their new owners and will advance the Angus breed in the future. Many of the cows are bred back to our elite herd AI herd sires as well as other bulls that we feel add maternal and carcass value to the cows. These pregnancies are sure to be just as promising as the young calves selling. Every animal selling has been tested negative for BVD and Johne’s. We have worked hard to put a stringent vaccination program in place and to ensure the health of each and every animal. We are proud to be one of very few herds in the country who has undergone voluntary whole herd testing for these two very economically important diseases and we feel this adds great value to the cattle. With all of this being said, we have made the difficult decision that it is time to end this chapter in the legacy of LVCC. We began by heavily investing in some of the top Angus cow families, building a high quality lineup of donor cows, and an elite herd bull battery. We quickly realized our facilities and land base were inadequate for the type of operation we were trying to run. We have been purchasing the majority of our feed and have been struggling to move cows through the facility to effectively manage them. This operation has been successful for the past few years by the hard work and dedication of the individuals involved here, starting first and foremost with our manager, Brian Ferguson. We truly appreciate the effort he has put into this operation and the passion for high quality cattle that he has brought to LVCC. With time, we realized that this farm, in its present state was not sustainable on our land base long term. As a result, we have made the difficult decision to disperse the entire herd, holding nothing back, and to redirect our operation’s focus and goals. We treasure the friendships, relationships, and partnerships we have built during our time in the Angus breed. We look forward to continuing to build on these in the future as we redirect our involvement in the cattle business and restructure LVCC to better suit our land base. We look forward to seeing you and being your host on November 10th. Please feel free to come early to view the cattle on Friday. Please check our website and page frequently for updates and current pictures of the cattle. The sale will be streaming live on liveauctions.tv for those of you who can’t attend. If we can be of any assistance with travel or room accommodations or have any questions on the cattle, please feel free to contact any member of the LVCC team. Lake View Cattle Company
