For 3 years we have collaborated to create a new solution for #refills & #reuse which today launches in Aldi UK's Solihull branch.
CHEP alongside Unpackaged Aldi UK Ocado, Berry Global #TradeFixtures, Eden Europe, DIGI Europe Ltd been supported by Innovate UK to collaborate on this new solution which is designed to become an industry standard.
The refillable supply chain vessel can be used by any supplier or retailer, reducing costs, food waste and increasing the number of store types that can sell refills.
If every household in the UK refilled just one item per week, this would eliminate over 1.4 billion items of single-use packaging per year (Based on 2022 ONS figure of 28.2 million households in the UK).

On #WorldFoodDay, we’re reminded that each year, more than 1.6 billion tons of edible food —approximately one-third of food produced for human consumption- is lost or wasted while millions of people face hunger.
For years CHEP has worked together with The Global FoodBanking Network to build the capacity of locally led food banks to alleviate hunger and reduce food loss and waste.
Today, we are proud to support the initiative by GFN and Red de Bancos de Alimentos de México called Pacto Por La Comida, the first voluntary agreement in Latin America to address food loss and waste, together with companies like Unilever, Kellogg's and Walmart.
