TN International has watched the unfolding crisis in Ukraine with great sadness, which is shared across our entire organisation. We join with people everywhere in hoping for peace. We are doing everything we can to support colleagues in Ukraine, as they and their families do their best to manage a frightening and arduous situation.

We have received various enquiries from customers and other stakeholders as to the impact of the crisis on the TN International business. Our production capacity is entirely undiminished. Indeed, it has been substantially enhanced by recent strategic investments in both organic plant development and acquisitions. The completion of a new Stone Wool factory in Wykroty, Poland, and the addition of the Chesterfelt bituminous roofing plant in Chesterfield, UK, to the TN International family, are two examples from just the past few months. Moreover, our business has not historically been impacted by sanctions and we anticipate that this will remain the case for imported product.

Therefore, we assess that we will continue to be able to deliver our usual great product and service offers to customers in our key markets. Of course, we commit to keeping you informed as the situation develops.

Financially, TN International is in a very robust position, and we retain undiminished capability to continue our ambitious programme of strategic investment to maintain our rapid growth and development. We can confirm that our banking arrangements are all based in Europe and are unaffected by the current situation. The leadership of our European business is diverse, stable and mature. In the acquisition process for several of our European assets we have been subjected to detailed due diligence processes and scrutiny by relevant statutory authorities in different geographies and have passed all.

First roof with our own ENVIRO AIR slate.
ENVIRO AIR + sunlight = clean air

Now we can process the slate on polymer bitumen membranes using ENVIRO AIR technology at our plants. Roofing material with ENVIRO AIR technology has a positive effect on the reduction of nitrogen oxides in the air.

The main fighter against NOx is a titanium dioxide with special additives. The essence of the method consists of the oxidation of substances on the catalyst surface under the action of ultraviolet radiation. Harmful organic and inorganic pollutants, bacteria, and viruses, adsorbed on the surface with ENVIRO AIR. The process is activated when UV radiation from the sun hits the titanium dioxide particles, releasing energy for breaking down the NOx particles. Polluted air passes over the ENVIRO AIR membrane where the NOx is converted into harmless levels of water, carbon dioxide, and nitrates, which are washed away by the rainwater.

Five years ago, on January 1st, 2017, TN International division was established.

This was a significant event for all of us, and today we are celebrating the 5th Anniversary of the formation of our Company.

A lot has happened during these five years, and we have come a long way – growing from a "group of assets" to a large European company.

We started with 278 employees on our team, now we have 801. We have 8 factories and 5 service centers in Europe. We are one of the market leaders in Great Britain, Germany, Poland, Italy, the Czech Republic, and the Baltic States.

In 2021 we started modernization of the plant. We would like to share some moments of this modernization.

In the first video, we show the new equipment that has increased the efficiency of the production site. Overall efficiency increased thanks to the installation of:

- New impregnating tank – quality/increasing of speed/energy saving/safety issue closed.
- New heat exchanger – energy-saving and mixing processes faster.

Every year, UAB LT celebrates the anniversary of TN International in its own unique way by making a donation to a family, group, union, or other person or entity in need of social support. We aim to be a socially responsible company and give our support to those who need it the most. Last year, we donated to mothers of children with disabilities.

This year, two of our dear colleagues lost the battle with cancer. There was no longer a question whom we wanted to support. We looked for a Center that would benefit the most from our donation in Gargždai and Klaipėda Districts and the City of Klaipėda itself.

Saint Francis Oncology Center is a non-profit organization of limited liability. The goal of its operations is to satisfy public interests by rendering public services and engaging in activities that are beneficial to society. The Center has economic, financial, organizational, and juridical autonomy. In other words, it is not owned by anyone and is managed by people who have walked this road of struggle and loss, who have overcome all the challenges and wish to help others.

We are delighted to announce that TN International has acquired Chesterfelt Ltd one of the UK’s best-known bitumen roofing manufacturers.

The deal adds production capacity to TNi’s building product portfolio, complementing our ability to provide customers in the construction industry – particularly those based in the UK - with an integrated solutions to protect buildings.

Established in 1978, Chesterfelt has over 40 years’ experience manufacturing and distributing bituminous waterproofing products from a manufacturing and warehousing facility in Chesterfield, Derbyshire. The company employs thirty staff and supplies a wide variety of roofing projects from domestic properties to large industrial buildings.

There will be no job losses as a result of the acquisition.

For us this is a huge stepping stone in investing in the right certifications and proving that we are supplying only A quality products suited for the market demand. It’s a confirmation the TN-I products are always a perfect choice when looking for quality products.

The base of FM insurance and products are fire-resistant build-ups, which are becoming more complicated today with the extensive use of Solar panels as the latest example. More and more end-users are requiring FM approved products/systems.

TN International Lietuva has been included in the list of the most sustainable companies in Lithuania.

The most popular portal in Lithuania „DELFI“ presented a large-scale study „Sustainable Lithuania“ which singled out Lithuanian businesses that seek to become sustainable, cohesive, and socially responsible. The survey covered absolutely all 60 Lithuanian municipalities and 380 persons took part in the survey, from industry and business to mayors and politicians.

The survey was organized from September 1 to October 15. The study assessed the sustainability of companies in several different ways - economic, social, and environmental. The list includes companies that meet most of the following criteria: high corporate culture, employee welfare, equal opportunities and respect for human rights, significant contribution to the environment, taxes paid, investments, and jobs created.

Sustainability is currently a major global issue with climate change and a lack of environmental protection. We are proud to be an example of a company where sustainability is more than just words. All of this is reflected in our culture, our actions, and our universal recognition.

Do you know that the plant in Vyborg (Russia) consumes about 100 tons of crumbs from old tires every month?

Great news from our colleagues from Vyborg (Russia). Activists from the "Green Future" and the PREMIO company, which is engaged in the recycling of automobile tires, organized a collection of tires for further processing.
This event will be held on November 26 and 27 at the plant in Vyborg (Ruberodnya st.,9) where everyone can bring their old tires. The company will also assist in receiving and loading tires, transportation of tires intended for recycling.

We conducted a small experiment in the office with our material Underlay Next. We pasted the material on the glass, hammered a nail in the middle, and turned the glass over. Even though the nail was inside, the water did not flow when the glass was turned over.

One of the material`s characteristics is the ability to automatically tighten the places of mechanical fixation, damage, punctures, and cuts, tighten nails and other fasteners when heated.

For example, in a strong crosswind, there is a strong possibility that water or snow will blow under the roofing. If you use a synthetic underlay instead of a bituminous one, the water can pe*****te through the places of fixation of the underlay to the solid base. As a result, the solid base of the roof can swell and deform, there can occur multiple leaks inside the house that are not easy to eliminate.

Another problem is minor damage to the underlay during installation. A worker can accidentally damage the material, accidentally cut it with a knife or poke a hole with a nail.

If you use a bituminous underlay, such damage is not critical: as soon as the roofing heats up to 40–50 °C, all minor cuts will heal by themselves, and the roof will again become airtight. It is much more complicated with synthetic underlays: such mechanical damage must be repaired with special tapes or sealants. All that requires additional time and money. That is why workers often try to “ignore” minor damages and continue installation without eliminating them.

Despite all the difficulties, related to Covid19 and its limitations, thanks to the successful work of the TN International team, supplies of PIR thermal insulation have begun for one of the most iconic and prestigious projects in Vienna - The Shore.

"THE SHORE is a project extraordinaire. Experience an exceptional lifestyle concept and enjoy the special location right on the Danube river in Vienna´s 19th district.
The SHORE combines freedom, fitness, health, and wellness into a unique, luxurious lifestyle concept that is made up of the elements shoreTERRAIN, shoreWATER, shoreSERVICE, shoreWORK and shoreLOUNGE."

This is our first project of 10 luxury villas with a total area of 16.000 m2, where we supply PIR for roofs and where technical support is involved in drawing up plans for the layout of boards of this thermal insulation. The total supply of PIR will be about 900-1.000 m3.

It should also be mentioned that this project is a pioneer where a complete system of slopes from PIR (F/F) is used, developed, and produced specifically for Austria.

Co-founder and Co-owner of TN International Sergey Kolesnikov gave an interview to the Polish magazine. We would like to share major moments.

The official opening of the mineral wool plant took place in September 2021. The amount of investments in the stone wool plant is 65 million euros or about 300 million PLN. The construction of the plant was carried out exclusively on its own capital. It is planned to produce about 90 thousand tons of material annually, which will allow to insulate more than 30 thousand family houses. We have already produced more than 22 thousand tons of mineral wool. In terms of production scale, we will get 20 percent in 4-5 years on the Polish market.

In the near future, we will begin the construction of a plant for the production of polymer membranes. We have already invested 45 million PLN in this enterprise, and eventually, it will be about 126 million PLN. Commissioning of the plant is planned for late 2022 or early 2023. We would like to export polymer membranes - as well as stone wool - to Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Austria and Croatia, and possibly even northern Italy.

In the next five years, we will invest more than 700 million euros from Vladivostok to London. About 30 percent will fall on the European Union, of which one-sixth - on the Polish. It is around 100 million euros. The money will be used for the purchase, construction of new plants, repair of existing ones.

We are looking with great attention towards Southeast Asia. We are implementing a project in Primorsky Krai — in the Russian Far East - with plans to export products to APEC countries. We want to stand steadily on two strong legs -one in the European Union, the other in Asia. These are interesting and strategic markets for us.

The company's global strategy is the production of high-quality materials available at a reasonable price, as well as the complexity of solutions. We provide insulation, that is, warmth and safety to millions of families-from the foundation to the roof. Everyone can feel comfortable and safe in our house.

Dear colleagues,
We regret to inform you that on September 27, 2021, our colleague from Spain, the head of TN Iberia Mikel Jauregi died.

He joined in 2016 as head of TN IBERIA to develop sales of the synthetic membrane in the European market. Prior to that, he was a partner of TN for many years - since 2003, and did a lot to develop sales of synthetic membranes in Russia and the CIS.

Mikel became a part of TECHNONICOL very quickly and he was the embodiment of knowledge, experience, and craftsmanship. He was very persistent, consistent, and very systematic, he tried to understand both the needs of the clients and the capabilities of colleagues in order to find the best way to work.

He loved the company and colleagues, loved the TN atmosphere, drive, challenges, multitasking. At the same time, he was a very sincere person with whom you could talk about many things seriously or very cheerfully. As part of TN-International, he did a lot to develop sales in Latin America. Mikel conquered new markets, he was a pioneer in the South American markets, and in a few years won a significant share of the shingles market in Chile, developed sales of bitumen and PVC membranes in Chile, Colombia, and Mexico.

Mikel was the epitome of positivity and energy, humor, decency, openness, involvement, and empathy. He loved his family and children (two beautiful daughters).

Don't miss the virtual grand opening of the plant in Poland tomorrow. The event will be held on September 15th.

At the end of March 2021, TN International launched the first production facility in Poland. The new mineral wool production plant is one the largest investments in the company's history. Annual production capacity in Wykroty should amount to 1.3 million cubic meters of mineral wool.

The difference between the external and internal temperature leads to the formation of the ice on the roof surface, whereby water can pe*****te. Underlay material is reliable protection during the formation of ice on the roof. In case of rain with strong wind is possible the pe*******on of moisture under the top layer of the roofing and the occurrence of leakage in exposed locations.
