Niraan - The Tent City, Varanasi

Niraan – The Tent City, Varanasi, is an exquisite glamping resort, situated alongside the sacred ‘Ghats of Ganga’ in Varanasi, a city that is steeped in history and mythology, and carries profound spiritual significance.
Far from the hymns and humdrum, there is a space of silence, a riverbed of reverence, and an uber-luxurious glamping resort that is thoughtfully designed as a perfect blend of luxury and tradition.
The design is inspired by the ancient temple domes overlooking the location. The best part about this location is that it has been created on a riverbed and the ghaat is visible from every room of the entire Tent City.

Shri Raja Ram Temple also known as Orchha Temple is the only temple in the country where Lord Rama is worshipped as the King and not as a deity. The structure is painted with hues of white, pink, and yellow.

History about King Rama Temple (Shri Ram Raja Mandir)

Lord Rama is regarded as the King of Orchha. Orchha is the only place in India other than Ayodhya, where lord Rama is also the King of the town. The story behind this goes like this: In 16th century, king Madhukar shah of Orchha was a devotee of Lord Krishna whereas his wife queen Kunwar Ganesh was a devotee of Lord Rama. There were always disputes due to this difference. Once king challenged the queen that if Rama really exists then bring him to Orchha. Queen went to ayodhya and prayed for 21 days with rigorous penance to lord Rama.

At last Rama appeared before her in his child form and agreed to go with her with three conditions:

First - He will be the only king of Orchha, there will be no other king.
Second - Wherever he is placed once he will remain there only.
Third - He will go at a particular time Pukh Nakshatra and with some monks.

Queen accepted the conditions and thus Rama (statue representing Rama himself) was brought to Orchha. Since then Rama is the only king in Orchha. Even in the present times Rama is regarded as the only king and the guard of honour is given to him by the police every day at the Shri Ram Raja Temple. No other VIP or minister or official behaves like a ruler when they visit Orchha. This aspect makes Orchha a unique place for devotees of Lord Rama.

Established in rural West Bengal in 1901 by the renowned poet and philosopher Rabindranath Tagore, Santiniketan was a residential school and centre for art based on ancient Indian traditions and a vision of the unity of humanity transcending religious and cultural boundaries. A ‘world university’ was established at Santiniketan in 1921, recognizing the unity of humanity or “Visva Bharati”.
