Oh boy, oh boy is it gonna get weird this week!!!

This Thursday night at The 5 Barrel they are celebrating their 5th anniversary with an anniversary bash. As this just so happens to coincide with our trivia night, I decided to have some fun with it.

Story time.....hold on to your butts:
I met the owner of the 5 Barrel back in '06 when he was my professor at UWF, over the nearly 20 years I have known him he has become a true friend and mentor. Those of you that know me are fully aware that my hobbies and interests are all over the place, well Jason's ADHD may actually be worse that mine and this man pretty much knows it all. From woodworking, brewing beer, and hunting to H.P. Lovecraft, tax questions, and how to f*** up less in life in general, he has taught me a lot.

All that being said please join us this Thursday night for *S@ #% Jason Taught Me About Trivia." (Think of it as general knowledge with some weirdly specific crap thrown in.)

Well, according to the Marshall Tucker Band if you heard it in a love song it "can't be wrong," but I have a faith in all of you that you can be wrong no matter what the topic!

So come out to The 5 Barrel this Valentine's Day Eve on Thursday night for Love Song trivia.

We are going to have drink specials available starting before trivia and once again this week we are partnering with Dog House Downtown to beef up the prize pool.

Excellent showing from everyone last week, and the theme absolutely influenced this week....

This week at The 5 Barrel come out and test your knowledge of anything animated. So brush up on your Disney, Pixar, Warner Bros., Dreamworks, Anime, brand mascots, pretty much anything animated is on the table.

Trivia gets started at 7:30 and this week in addition to our regular prizes we are partnering with Dog House Downtown to sweeten the pot.

Well that was a helluva week, I would never have expected to see that much snow in Florida and it definitely made me feel like a kid again.

Feeling like a kid made me think of my childhood, so come out to The 5 Barrel this week for our Thursday night Trivia. This week we are gonna dive into al the things that made the 1990's great.

Well apparently we have reached a point in my life where "the music of my youth" is now called Dad Rock.

Seeing as how all the songs I know by heart are rising in popularity come out to The 5 Barrel this Thursday night for Dad Rock Trivia.

For those of you not in the know; The 5 Barrel was founded on some pretty deep roots in the world of, shall we say, "alternatively legal" means of alcohol production and distribution.

While those days are behind them and everything is on the up and up these days (😏) they still like to pay homage. This week they will have the folks from American Born Moonshine onsite with swag and samples of their stable of that good corn liquor.

In a convenient bit of timing this Thursday is also the anniversary of Prohibition going into action, luckily that is long behind us. Come join us for our Thursday Night Trivia as we talk about all things Prohibition and the questionably illegal activities that have been occurring ever since.

Holy crap, this week is our LAST trivia of 2024!!!! It has been a long year for sure and it is time to put it to rest.

Christmas time is in full swing folks, make sure you come out to the Christmas Parade downtown this weekend!!

Next week, in keeping with our festive theme, we will be having Christmas Music Trivia at The 5 Barrel next Thursday. Classics, remakes, and absurdity will all be up for grabs.

In keeping with our Christmas Trivia this month we are going to travel back in time, but just a little bit.....

This week we are going to be going back to childhood with Toys Trivia. Whether it is the things you wanted as a kid or the things you are buying for your own kids now, hopefully we will have a good of spread of them all.

As the long weekend comes to a close it is time to fully kick off the Christmas season.

The 5 Barrel will be closed for Thanksgiving, but don't worry they will be available for your pre and post Thanksgiving shenanigans on Wednesday and Friday respectively.

I didn't think I was going to have a whole to be thankful for this year, but boy do I stand corrected.

I would like to thank each and everyone of you who have endured Thursday after Thursday of trivia with me, and honestly even those that have never made it out but still like and share my nonsense.

I am thankful for the staff at 5B for always putting up with my borderline erratic mentality and always having just the right kind words to snap me out of my head.

Mostly, I am thankful for the true friends I have made in this 4+ year experiment of me being an "entertainer," you are all wonderful.

Happy Thanksgiving y'all, and we will be back on the 5th refreshed and reset to finish off the year*** strong!!!
