I'm interested to see the things certain places are doing to battle overtourism.
What do you think about this? Do you take these things into consideration when you plan travel?

Amsterdam and Paris will raise their tourist tax and Athens will introduce daily tourist caps, following the example of many other European locations.

Is it just me or is EVERYONE going to certain destinations lately. I feel like everyone I know is going to Patagonia this year. What destinations have you seen "everyone" going to lately?

I also see everyone going to Japan and Lapland, Finland. Interestingly I was one of the "everyone" since I went to Japan last year and I am planning Lapland for next year lol.

Ok guys. I have been sort of MIA here I realize but I am behind the scenes working hard on blog posts I promise. I have just been super busy with my "other" job, you know...the one that pays me? LOL. What's your favorite city in Italy? I always encourage people to go off the most common tourist track because Italy is a huge diverse country. My favorites are Lecce, Sorrento, Siracusa/Ortigia and Matera.

One of my favorite parts of visiting Liverpool was the tour around Anfield to see all the players murals! They are so wonderful.

You all may know that refugee issues are close to my heart, especially since I am half-Syrian. I once volunteered in Greece at a couple refugee camps and was blown away by the hospitality of the Greek people. However, it seems the Greek government is no longer living up to the kind spirit I once saw there. This is just horrible to read about.

A trial of 24 rescue workers has begun in Greece, prompting criticism from human rights groups and the European Parliament, which has called the proceedings "the largest case of criminalization of solidarity in Europe."
