We posted about Cabin Crew roles at Naples today. Not only were we instantly overwhelmed by applicants (thank you 🙌) we were also overwhelmed by spammers/phishers posting bogus application links for jobs that don't exist. So we thought it safer to delete the post and we've closed applications.

For the avoidance of doubt:

1) Never click on a link from an untrusted source
2) All reputable employers will have application systems that will have their company name in the URL. If in doubt search and 'careers' and follow the links from there
3) Never ever supply your bank details as part of a job application, or pay to 'apply' for a job. Its almost certainly a scam

Winners!

When asked about the skills required to be cabin crew, over 40% believe that being a people person is an important skill.

Thiago, a former opera singer, knows this first hand from his experience performing in a choir. His background in working with people from all over the world make him perfectly suited for working with colleagues and flying passengers of all nationalities across Europe.

Thiago is just one of the real-life cabin crew who joined easyJet as a career changer who features in our new recruitment campaign. Thiago, easyJet Cabin Manager based at London Gatwick, said:

“I had reached the stage in my career when I was looking to do something different, but where I could still use some of my skills and experience. I enjoy travelling and meeting people, so being cabin crew seemed the ideal opportunity.”

Whilst over 76% of Brits still consider that cabin crew roles are only for those aged 18 to 25, it didn’t stop former radio presenter Ian when he made a career change by joining easyJet. He spent 18 years working as a radio presenter and a producer, most recently with Kingdom FM, before deciding to become cabin crew. His previous career experience has seen Ian take his friendly presence from the radio into the cabin and make customers feel welcome on board.

“I joined easyJet at 49 years old, showing that anyone at any age with the right skills can become crew. In my first week of working at easyJet someone handed me a birthday dedication to read over the PA as they boarded and I remember thinking how my previous experience on the radio was going to come in very useful in my new job!”

Career changers, welcome onboard!

With over 76% of Brits believing that cabin crew roles are only for those aged 18 to 25, and 4 in 10 (43%) British men saying they would not consider doing the job because of the traditional gender stereotypes around the role - our new recruitment campaign aims to show that anyone with the right skills, and from all walks of life, can become cabin crew.

We’re recruiting over 1,000 new cabin crew ahead of next summer across locations such as Birmingham, Edinburgh, Faro, Gatwick and Glasgow. Regardless of who you are: life experience and transferable skills, such as customer service, communication, teamwork, and people management make many ideal candidates for the role.

It includes people like former chef George, who joined easyJet in January this year having spent five years handling the heat of a busy restaurant kitchen, meaning he’s a natural at taking on the multi-tasking skills required of a high-flying service in the sky.

Today we wished the happiest of retirements to one our longest serving Training Captains, Mark Evans 👨‍✈️

His last day was a special family event where he and his son, Sam, flew from London Gatwick to Belfast City and back with many of their closest family members on board!

Mark has played a huge part in the training and development of our future pilots, and we’d like to thank him for his contributions 🧡

15-year-old aviation fan, Josh, has always dreamed of making a passenger announcement in an airport. On Tuesday, with the help of Liverpool John Lennon Airport and Swissport, his dream came true when he made the boarding call for our flight to Belfast! 🎙️🛫
