Exactly a year ago today we left Malta to venture from Texas to Patagonia by bike. A dream that has been successfully fulfilled. Today we are back home trying our best to adjust to our normal lives while cherishing all the good memories, valuable lessons and challenges we faced during these 50 weeks away. It was a tough one but somehow we always managed to move forward; with persistence, patience and assistance from the various people we met along the way and people who supported us from back home and all over the world. We would like to thank once again our sponsors Go&Fun Green Energy Drink Malta and Gordon's Moto Centre for believing in us and for encouraging our goal. We thank all the beautiful people that have helped us, hosted us and treated us as part of their family (you all know who you are); we think of you often and only wish we could cross paths again in the future. Last but not least a big thanks to YOU, our followers and great supporters. We hope that in someway we inspired you to visit these unique countries, or made you better aware that our world is truly a unique gem worth discovering.

We still have one more video to go, so stay tuned for our final ending of this grand trip.

Until the next one... Adios Amigos
Nadia & Ryan

And we continue ... this time al dedo (hitch hiking) to the Reserva National Coyhaique. Must say getting a lift to and from the park was pretty easy and we made some friends too. This 4hr trek was the perfect getaway after the bumpy days we had lately.

Farewell to our workhorse and Companion. The route was not always smooth but we did it!
Never thought that a heavy bike with 650cc could be enjoyyable. There is something about the engine and the gearing that make it fun.... UNTIL....we fully loaded it up to a total weight of approx. 450kg. I thought the bike would not even move 😅 but it did.....33000km in fact without any drama.....Stator problems aside....we had no big issues.....Honestly, considering the abbuse its been through, I expected more mechanical failures, only one sprocket bearing, 3 right hand side fork seals, a chain and sprocket had to be changed
The fuel pump problems we had more than once was mainly due to bad fuel clogging the filters....the pump itself never failed.
All in all it did well for a 650cc.
For a single rider its a great travel bike!
For 2 fully loaded it can be Hard Work though. Its very good for long days on highways at 110kph and also fun for mountain roads (we had a LOT) on good tarmac. With that weight though we had to take it extremely slowly when the road ENDS.
In Péru and Bolivia the road ends frequently so it was frustating 😅
Some more powér and torque would have been very welcome BUT for keeping the cost (including depriciation and fuel economy) LOW; I Dont think we could have chosen much better

Long distance adventure riding is always a BIG Compromise.
In the end....'where you are riding' is more important then 'what you are riding' as long as it is on 2 wheels 😎

SOLD!!!
What are the chances?!!
We make it to the next destination and the Owner wants to buy our Vstrom!! The price is attractive given that the stator needs to be changed.
Ride 5 hours to the ONLY city on the Carettera Austral; aduana, notary, aduana, bank, inspection, keys handed over...it all happened so fast, we only got 1 final photo :(
Had to be done sooner or later, guess it was the right place at the right time.

WE WILL MISS THE FREEDOM OF THE MOTORCYCLE BUT ITS NOT OVER YET!
ITS A NEW ADVENTURE!
WE STILL HAVE TO VISIT PLACES WHICH ARE A MUST...PROBABLY WILL TAKE US LONGER AS TRANSPORT IN WINTER IS NOT FREQUENT.
Guess we WIĹL HAVE TO FINISH THIS OFF like old times..... WITH A BACKPACK!! 😂😂😂👍🚌🌎

Our journey towards Chaiten was anything but easy. Getting the 4am boat as the previous day was cancelled last minute due to bad wind. Then bike gave in & wouldn't start at all costs. Luckily all 3 of us found a lift to our next destination.

Introducing Treading Trails.

During our first conversation after 10 years we ended up talking about our dream to travel. Back then (May 2017) it was just a passive conversation. I was dreaming of travelling in South America and told Nadia ‘You should come with me’. Little did we know what lied in the future. Travelling the world on a motorcycle has long been my dream. Inspired by our good friends ‘Wild Feathers’ we ended up with a bigger dream of travelling Central and South America on a Motorcycle. The Day we decided to DO IT was the best day of my life!

I came across Ryan again after 10 years, a somewhat different person than the one I knew and we immediately hit it off with my favourite subject - Travelling. I have done a few trips here and there but deep down I wanted to do something bigger, something better. So when Ryan Proposed this Latin American trip I jumped to the idea, said “Yes” and kept my word till this very day. I grew to befriend motorbikes and the thrilling rides to unfamiliar trails. Who would have thought that I would be realizing my dream on two wheels on the other side of the world?!
