When is the last time your cruise line sent you a handwritten thank you postcard? When is the last time your cruise line gives each woman a scarf and every man a hat - just for sailing? Last day in Munich and I went to for a meal and a beer. On the way back I found an ice cream shop and had probably the best ice cream I’ve ever had. Europe - you were beautiful, surprising, welcoming, RAINY and fun! Recap next week of my trip. If you have ever considered a river cruise, message me and let’s talk!

A day in Munich! I visited the world famous and had delicious food and a VERY large beer. It was all so good! Then I walked around the property and picked up a pretzel (also very large!) to bring back to the hotel. I could leave without saying I had had one! 🤣 Tomorrow I am headed home. I have learned so much about river cruising with and saw some incredible sites!

Yesterday was all about CASTLES! We sailed the Rhine Gorge and saw over 20 castles in about 3 hours. Some dates back to 1100! Just amazing! Today we were in Cologne and it POURED. Oh well….had a German beer. Tonight I had dinner at the Captain’s Table! It was a great night. sure knows how to elevate cruising!

So the Heidelberg Castle Ruin (you MUST say RUIN after it we were told!) is home to the largest wine barrel - 228,000 liters! Charles IV was a heavy drinker and never wanted to go without. 😳 the gross thing was he would have the servants throw any type of wine in there: red, white, rose, port….you name it! 🤢 I think the man had a problem! The picture with the gold shows a drain pipe. It was confirmed that all the drain pipes are gold. Wow! The last pic shows the true size of the castle RUIN.

Yesterday I was in Heidelberg, Germany and visited the Heidelberg Castle Ruin. It is just amazing to me that these places exist. The castle took over 500 years to build! Don’t forget that this excursions along with any others is always included in an cruise!

Yesterday the AMASerena took us to Strasbourg. Beautiful architecture and so much history. You really understand how young the US is when you see all of this history! Had a traditional Alsace Christmas cookie (so good and reminds me of a coconut macaroon) and then visited the Cathedral Notre Dam! Think you may be interested in an cruise? Message me!

We walked across this bridge today that was built in 1433. Check out the 🔺 paintings inside the bridge! Also had fondue for lunch. Finally, came back to my room to a sweet gift that every woman receives on an cruise-a collectible scarf. Each cruise gives a different scarf so you have a great memory of each one you go on!

When is the last time your ship captain gave every woman a rose? When is the last time your safety briefing included flowing champagne? I k ow I sure had never experienced either! Learning this is the AMAWatetways way! Chefs table was AMAZING tonight - great food, great wine and great company! Tomorrow I spend the day in Lucerne. Pics to come….. you are a great surprise!

In two weeks I will embark on a brand new journey - something I have never done before! I am taking my first RIVER CRUISE! I start in Basel and end in Amsterdam and will sail on the Rhine on the AmaSerena. I will be updating you throughout my trip.
